i've always liked to think of it as
-the weeklong vacation those not at BM finally get from "them".
-the special-ed's sandbox.

Burningman is like going to Chuck E. Cheese except the whole
place is filled with old, naked, fat men and you can't find
a towel to hide your erection while your mom is yelling at
you to take out the trash. I LOVE IT !!!!

Disney Land on acid, except all the participants are Mickey Mouse. Except all the participants are really Goofy.

On acid.

Playing with fire.

Sounds about right. I think there will be an awakening of values and a reckoning to follow. Beginning with the decomidification, of christmas.

Now, now, she's already done the "spin thing" by snipping the "Bella" from the front of her name.

Thread drifting,

So at christmas we are all showing pics of all sorts of things on the computer and projector at my inlaws house. I pop the SD card out of my camera and load it into the computer.

I open the "BM2007" folder and up comes 1500 or so pics, and half an hours worth of video. they were amazed at the art, music, deathguild, the statues, paintings, poetry, and fireworks.

The super conservative ones were shocked that the "hippy drug, love fest" they had heard about in church as an abomination to all that is pure. Is actually a pretty cool event, with a smattering of nudity and a constant pounding of every genre of music you can name.

I know two more virgin burners that are coming to 2008's burn.
of course its more babysitting for me - but worth it.

ONE EYED - dude you missed another Wednesday!!

Not my favorite description, but last year I told one of my classes that there'd be a substitute coming in because I would be (here's the cryptic euphemism intended to be a perfect non-description) "away for a while."

After class, a young lady comes up to me and says, "So, what's your playa name?"

In 1998, my son described it to me as:

"a giant party in the desert with incredible art and music... inhabited with the most beautiful girls in the world."

I went the next year and have never missed a year since.

A paranormal hoedown.

Burning Man is Love, see.

I love the playa in my nose.

I love the clear skies and the mountains surrounding me.

I love the colors covered in playa dust.

Burning man is the way that all camp grounds should opperate. I want to be welcome in any camp. I love saying "hi" and sitting down to a drink and a good conversation.

I love fire.

I love sharing whatever I have with whoever is around.
