Burning man music

Post by CAPSLOCK » Wed Feb 04, 2004 12:33 pm

I'm spending a lot of time now in my sound studio making Burning man music for the festival to bring with me.

Is there some place on the internet where I can find Burning man music that other people have made?

I hope to have my desert music played on the radio and party's around black rock city to make people happy.
That is if they like it.

Don't really know what you mean by "Burning Man Music", but you might want to check out the Mutaytor ( mutaytor.com ), a great band/performance group that grew out of Matty the Mutaytor's extreme solo drumming performances at Burningman.

Ah, yes... I am HOOKED on Mutaytor after seeing their full-blown performance on NYE in San Francisco. And I am headed to LA on March 12 to get another dose.

But, in my opinion, THE Quintessential Playa Band is Lost at Last.

I got this Vinyl record on the playa called Playa Beats, 4 nice tracks, i even play them at parties sometimes (one is a nice minimal techno beat) the guy who gave them as gifts to DJ's said that he sampled stuff he recorded on the playa in 02 and mixed it into tracks. probably the best gift i got on the playa.
Shit, where was i for the last week... ehm...

Burning Man music? It can range from techno to Tom Lehrer, from Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirates of Penzance" to (at our camp) the theme from "I'm a Barbie Girl" to raggae. Now at three in the morning, when you may (or may not) be trying to sleep on the playa, expect techno along with an occasional explosion from some raver setting off large skyrockets. Nice touch if you ask me.

At least once in the week, at 8am, we like to bast som G&R... just to break up the music a little. It pissed off some neighbors, but only due to it drowning out their trance music they had been blasting 24/7. Not that I dislike trance mind you. But a change can be nice. To make up for it we fed them breakfast. :)

A burningman is like a melody?

No no no, that's a symphony. I'm looking for a tune that can be associated with Burningman that is original in writing.
