Just wait until you get a load of Trident's new line of mayonnaise-flavored chewing gun... Now you can enjoy long-lasting mayo flavor for hours on end!

Personally I'm shocked at all of you. What've you been thinking? You respond to a vicious attack on our beloved event by talking for pages and pages about mayonnaise, and you don't even mention aioli? Dudes, it's all about the ailoi- the difference between a condiment fit only for wonderbread and haut cuisine, friends.
"Aioli, sometimes called the "butter of Provence" because it is so integral to the cuisine, is simply a mayonnaise incorporating quantities of fresh garlic - usually two cloves per person in Provence. That is a lot, and you might wish to use less (I do - three or four cloves for this recipe), but since the whole point of aioli is garlic, by all means don't stint. The quality of the garlic is most important - it should be fresh and plump with swollen cloves. Reject any shriveled cloves or any in which the core is developing a green sprout.
Traditionally aioli is made with egg yolks and garlic pounded in a mortar. A lighter sauce can be made in the blender with a whole egg and an egg white, but the blender does odd things to the taste of garlic, so I prefer to make the lighter mayonnaise in the blender, then fold the garlic paste in separately by hand. I always use organic eggs, but if you're not sure of your egg source and worried about salmonella, don't try this recipe.
1 whole egg
1 egg white (you can freeze the yolk and use it later)
salt to taste
1 to 1 1/2 cups fruity extra-virgin olive oil as needed
juice of 1/2 lemon or more to taste
4 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
Make the mayonnaise by whirling the egg and egg white in a blender with a little pinch of salt. Remove the center knob from the blender lid and, with the blender churning, start to pour in the olive oil, a very thin thread at first, until the mixture starts to thicken. Stop the blender and pour in a few tablespoons of lemon juice, then start the blender again and continue adding oil, a little more thickly as the mixture emulsifies and mounts. When all the oil has been added, turn the blender off and set aside.
Combine the garlic in a small bowl or a mortar with a teaspoon of salt and pound the garlic or crush it with the back of a spoon until you have a thick and homogeneous paste. Now use a spatula to scrape the mayonnaise into the garlic paste and turn gently to incorporate everything. Taste and add more salt and lemon juice if desired."

I am firmly against aioli. The ratio of vowels to consonants is entirely too high. Please join an open discussion of this issue at www.stopaioli.com. Once you join you will be immediately kicked off. Have a nice day.

blue bird you have lost it
So bluebird all you can ever do is bash people? so so sad. Maybe put a little of your energy into somethign productive like i have. My productivity is not looked upon nicely here in BMORG land but i have had many many people say thanks for doing what you have done and did you know about 15 peopele from the gerlach area have already said that to me? In fact two of them are listed in recent articles about gerlach residents.
and i have not said that Sempra ismy sworn enemy
for now BMORG is the one want people to make their own choices about. I may do soemthing abour Sempra.(we have time) ActualyI already have. I have been talkign to people in Gerlach a few times about this issue. We first thought it was a geothermal plant a few weeks ago. Low and behold it wasn't?
that part did catch us by surprise.
and bluebird what do you knwo about powerplants?

Ah, wipe out the small potential allies before going up against gigantic corporate america. Sempra doesn't have to divide and conquer as long as Rex Scates is their sworn enemy.

It's ok to defend yourself, but considering your past behaviors on here whatever you say has a tendency to flame up into something much worse.
Excuse me for feeding the troll as they say, but are you going to get involved in stopping the power plant proposal or do the rest of us who truly love the Black Rock Desert have to do it without you? If you can find time to quit taking sniper shots at BM and focus on the real enemy, you would realize that we now have a very large, coal breathing, water sucking, particulate spewing monster potentially headed to a location right outside of Gerlach. Frogpond won't have a watertable when they get through. And it gets worse. Much worse.
So...as I posted in another thread in General Discussion, are you going to step up and fight this? Or is BM your primary, or make that ONLY concern?

Please feel free to cite your eplaya junior deputy badge number and what authority you've been been given to chase people off the BBS.
Or anything to support your brilliant understanding of how the proposed project will affect the "watertable" at "Frogpond".

Bob, stick to designing bridges and if you don't have anything positive to add to the discussion, shut up. As for chasing people off the BBS, have you taken a look at your own posting style? Pot, meet kettle.
And the only credential I need to do anything is a desire to care. I happen to care about what happens to the BRD. Do you?
