Banned
I was just wondering if anyone has been, or if its even possible to be, banned from BRC.
For example will Paul Addis be allowed in this year?
How would the gate enforce this ban?

As far as I know no individual or group has ever been banned from the event. No blackballing, no persona non grata.
One individual I know of has been booted from the event at least four times - possibly more. The Ranger's take has always been to remind said individual that the there's only one strike and he's gone. Period. Said individual has manged to attend the last two events without getting the boot.
I'm no lawyer but I imagine that Paul Addis would bring a unique series of questions to the table were it likely that he'd be returning this year. My gut tells me that a restraining order would probably be put into place for liability reasons and I suspect the event's insurance policy would mandate excluding him once his presence at the event were known.

a banned individual would most likely be escorted out once he was recognized and pointed out be someone who knew.mdmf007 wrote:On paper its easy to ban someone -
operationally though, who would know who's who at the gate? They are not carding, no TSA screening so I think even with a restraining order, and notice not to come, it would be easy to roll right on in.

I saw someone get banned from the DPW bar, a singular achievement I think, especially at that party.
I certainly hope that everyone caught stealing is formally banned.
Once notice is made, if someone appears on a property, they can be charged with trespassing. (I don't know if this applies the same here.)
When it comes to disturbances, generally no one worries about keeping out banned persons.
The theory is that if they can avoid notice, they aren't a problem.
Any trouble, off to the nick.

We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

Dr. Pyro is a special case. He only gets banned if he runs out of wine. Those of you who feel he should be banned should visit the barbie death camp,,drink all his wine, and fill out a complaint.unjonharley wrote:Dr Phyro and the BDCAWB has been banned for years..He just keeps poping up, out of the dust..
