I pound the job hunting pavement for 2.5 months, through multiple counties.
I put in an application from a local newspaper asking for HS grads for commission sales in a small cell phone store. I'm getting that desperate. I get a phone call ONE HOUR from when I dropped off the application. They schedule an interview. 3 minutes into the interview they inform me that they called me in for a call center rep position. 3 people see me. 90% of the time the General Manager talks. It's like he wasn't really interested in anything I had to say. I leave without any promise of nothing. I get a call the next day to take a personality test the following week. We're told we'll have the results in 1-2 weeks. I get a call the NEXT DAY for a 2nd interview. All the bets are off when it comes to job hunting. It isn't a numbers game, it's plain dumb luck, nothing personal.
