That's right, fans, "the first ever outside air conditioning unit that uses a special water evaporation technology." I can only imagine what the special water evaporation technology is. Hmmmm... .

Anyway, cool the playa so you don't have to sweat.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and it's called the Intelli Cool. How intelligent is _that_!

That original link is long on claims but short on specifics.

I'm guessing some sort of modified swamp cooler and an electric motor/blower?

What's the cost of that versus buying a ticket for a hippie & having her/him spray herb tea on you for a week?

a rotating fan on a stand rigged with a water cup that drips water onto the fan blades (powered by a deep cycle battery and invertor) works pretty good. I suppose you could make it all steampunk like too if you wanted (and no smelly hippy to deal with).

But speaking of being sprayed with herb or mint tea, some guy came by our camp misting people with jasmine or something water, so Louise and I said yes. We gave a way clothes later that day, and women who hugged me in thanks said, "Oh! You smell good." :->

Don't sneer at hippies misting you with flowered water.
