Tombstone Regulation

Chemicals are not discovered to be dangerous.
They must be proven safe for use in the first place.

The chemical industry invented the current standard which assumes everything is safe.
When bills requiring testing and adequate standards come up, they get them pulled or funding stripped.
Frontline did an excellent show on this.
Those dirty tricks the tobacco companies use, that everyone is so familiar with-copied from the chemical industry.
There are many horror stories that come out and get covered up in court.
The Erin Brockovitch chemical horrorshow in cali, still not known by the public.
You can never be safe as long as court proceedings can be held in secret.
And for an interesting read, check out the pattern of political donations.

The chemical industry has been proven to be unsafe.
That could be changed.

I live near a velsicol plant that manufactures banned chemicals.
I think ddt is one of them.
Greenpeace has come to protest them.
There's a big cancer hot spot in the area from dumping.

Much more is known about genetic damage from chemicals, than is released to the public.
Damage can worsen from one generation to the next, with no additional exposure.
I don't know why.
