Wlobal Garming

Post by ALICEtheGOON » Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:19 pm

I think most everyone has accepted that global warming is happening.

back in the 80's before I heard the word "GW" ..i felt a change was

happening in San Diego . Our summers had become more humid and

tropical. Our fire season is longer and seems to do more and more

damage.

WHAT CHANGES have you noticed in your part of the country or world?

....we are doomed!!!

well, WE aren't doomed. our great great grandchildren would be if anyone is.

I think it is best to stop calling it "global warming". I think the correct term is "climate change". Why????

BECAUSE IT'S APRIL 21st AND IT'S STILL SNOWING!!!!!!!!!

sorry, didn't mean to yell but usually i've long since packed away my long johns and i've not had a day without them yet.

This winter we had all-time record snowfall and all-time record snow on the ground and there are still large patches of foot deep snow in my yard.

I'm not shittin' it's snowing right now.

this is north Idaho, sure, but like I said,...All-time records shattered.

call it what you want. I WISH it was global warming.

i want my shorts.
blow.

We are having too many hot days a year in the bay area. Yea, "climate change." "Global warming sounds so cozy, and even thought it's a net warming of the world's climates, there's a lot a variability to be expected. Storms will be worse--warmer means more water in the air, and more energy for wind. Drought in the Sahel has been going on since the 70s--believed to be a climate change effect. Some associated names--Ethiopia, Biafra, Dafur. Nasty, nasty business. At least when and if cannibalism hits here, I'll be dead and I have no direct descendants.

Climate change is definitely happening. Here in Oregon I know it because the weather is even more fucked up than usual. We have had more hail and snow than at any time I can remember. The winters are getting wetter and colder and the summers are hotter. Ack!

I guess if we dont stop burning fossil fuels in 15 years time "climate change " will be

irreversible .

.......good luck with that .

Lotta scientists see people caused climate changes but weather cycles indicated by tree rings show 100 year droughts and the like in recent history. That must have seemed extreme, world ending...personal experience is a brief measure. Plenty of ripping at the natural systems seems to be happening (and polar bears don't vote).
