I attended my daughters Zone concert last night, as Ive done for the last 4 years.
I do not understand Mrs. JONES teaching, My daughters playing abilities has declined so severely, she has an F in that class? !
I attend, what I believe, to be a showcase of what they've learned all year...and I get Sponge Bob Square Pants? When the younger, 6th 7th and 8th graders from the middle schools are doing elegant pieces that send chills up my spine! Only to go on to the "HighSchool Orchestra" to play the National Anthem, a latin based piece(and according to my daughter only rehearsed 3 times as a whole between the orchastra) and a grand finale of SPONGE BOB???????????
Since my daughters involvement in Mrs.JONES instruction, Ive seen very little progress in her abilities. Where as the last 4 yrs of her instruction under Mrs.YES and Mr. ALRIGHT she has flourished.
In this last year, Ive seen her decline.

I see a Music instructor who "plays the violin during performance" instead of conducting?????
Why would an instructor play the violin during a performance? Where is the tempo of conducting for the strings to follow????
I see that the 7th and 8th grade performers can follow a conductor. I know that my student can follow a conductor and has in her 5 years playing.
This is a beautiful new school. I cannot beleive that the music dept is lacking in professionalism. I see a introduction to music to 5th graders!
With all the strengths I see in this school, I cant beleive that the one still exsisting art appreciation(music) is so underdeveloped.
Five years ago, My daughter picked up a violin, and just worshipped it. It was decided by the family that she would follow that love for music towards scholorship tuitions throughout her high school years. She now owns 2 electric Violins, her well worn, well loved daily player, a 1917 Zapf concerta,an electric guitar, 2 acoustic guitars and a keyboard.
Last night, my daughter informed me that she wants to drop music!

I said no, Give it a try...and she has, but now I see I was very wrong when I said it will be just as good, maybe better!

I’ve crossed paths lately with a few people involved in teaching who seemed to enjoy tearing other people down. I’m sure there are various reasons for why they feel they should do such a thing, but either way, the end result is that they seem to do a stellar job at splattering their issues all over everyone else.

Fuck stupid teachers! And fuck the government for not paying teachers enough and therefore offering no incentive for the really smart people to become public school teachers. I honestly believe that some of those people (teachers and even some university professors) are only doing the job because they get off on the sense of power, kind of like prison guards do, or clergy, or every cop EVER... (not really, some are OK.)
I had a History teacher in high school who was also the football coach. Great football coach, but this guy didn't know jack shit about fucking History or a clue about how to teach it to kids. But the school's team had a great record so they allowed this moron to fuck up the education of every poor soul forced to sit in his classroom, myself excluded, I just did what I usually did in high school, read the textbook and then moved on to more interesting things. For all I know he's still teaching. I feel your pain!

I come from a long line of teachers/librarians/school admin.
Not me...but I dabbled in some advocacy stuff...still do...not govermental... parent student rights.
YES..big fucking problem...lack of $ to pay for quality teachers...by quality I mean...well trained. These people have a hard enough time KNOWING what their going to be paid when they finish their education....hard part is, they can only balance so much educational student loans based on how long it will take them to pay it off....
Also, Educational needs..the fucking government keeps ripping $$$$$$ out of our education system...well dur...now we have only slightly educated people graduating ...whereas other countries that is main focus!
Lets see, these children in schools today will be running our country tomorrow...I vote to get them more fucking excellant education, by paying these teachers enough to get extensive training...and keeping it up to date.. and Im not talking about that fucking day once a month they take for brushing up of skills, like...summers would be classes mon-friday PAID...just like everyone else...work all year, 5 days a week, weekends off.Hell maybe even 3-4 days a week like college?
End of summer 4 week vacation....again PAID!

What is disturbing about teachers like that is, they push their fucking
political and personal opinions on there students instead of letting them develope their own ideas. I aced his fucking "tests", I aced his fucking
homework assignments. But I was a disruption in class. All he could do was defend Nixon and all I could do was argue with him about it.
He even told me the only reason I passed his class was because I was the best long distance runner in the county and if he failed me I would be ineligable to compete. I was the only one who had the fucking balls to disagree with him because I knew he wouldn't fail me or kick me out of class. So I made it my soul purpose in life to intentionally PISS the fucker off on a daily basis

No big deal...I was gonna wait till August or after the burn to
piss him off enough to fire me so FUCK HIM !!!
Tired of the 5 faces that he shows , depending on who you are.
Tired of his blaming everyone else and doing nothing about it in general.
And to top it off the new warehouse guy is the old front sales clerk that I had a physical confrontation with 2 1/2 years ago
....and now he's selling meth out the back and front door...2-3 hour lunches, 1 hour late everyday and
always coming in having no sleep in like " 5 days....dood. but I'm fine, Yo' "
