After yesterday's camp meeting, we've identified the need to find another camp/village/community to share power [therefore, neighboring addresses] with at the Burn. (The community we camped w/last yr doesn't seem to be going.) Last year, we camped with OBOP/DOTA/Monkey Puzzle. The contacts we have in OBOP seem to think the camp might be defunct this year, and the other two, we have yet to hear back from. Application deadline is getting close, so we need a plan., and we're very committed to bring BC@theLD back to the playa this year, having doubled our membership!
Given the current energy crunch and the cost of fuel, we would like to help contribute to the cost of genny procurement/usage, as our power consumption as a group is VERY low. We have no big power draws or "special effects", there MAY be one small RV, although it's looking unlikely, and mostly we need extension cords for our tents and kitchen.
Is there a friendly and welcoming group of burners out there that might be open to pooling resources, please let me know. Our camp is pretty open to any neighbors, and near-ish, but not ON the Esplanade would be groovy (i.e. - "A" street-facing would work), but we're not that picky, except to say chanting doesn't work if you're too close to BOOMBOOM techno, and given our content, the Red Light [adult] district is prob not the right fit.
