Camelbacks and getting rid of the bad taste

:? Hi there. I just got a new camelback and heard there is a way of getting rid of the bad rubber taste. Do you ladies and gents have any ideas, or is time the only way?

Camelback makes a drop in tab that cleans the bladder..

Lots of filling and draining helps. Never put whiskey in it - it will taste like whiskey for a long time.

How wonderful Eplaya can be for genuine wisdom.

Moderator M had it right with the vinegar, you can use any type, fill it half vinegar/half water , let it sit 24hrs, and then rinse a few times, I guarantee there won't be any taste left.... vinegar, rubber, or flavored condom.

I had a camelback... but got rid of it the following year because I found that I was drinking less water with it.

I make it a point to drink water every time I stop my bike. Drinking from a liter bottle, I found I was taking in more water than sipping from a camelback.

No, she's first quality and has the weird clear rib pieces; the other Buckys are dirty ivory. I may paint it when I get the urge.

A little bit of baking soda and water. Rinse the bladder, tubing, and mouthpiece. Consider soaking the mouthpiece in this to help the taste.

This has worked for me everytime - even if I forget about.
