Tennessee Virgin
Tennessee Virgin
08 will be my first Burning Man!
I've been aware of Burning Man for a while but have decided I'm going to quit watching this year and start participating!
Anyway, this is way out of my normal boundaries and am excited about expanding my view. that said, people in my "default world" think this is a little out there so I'll be coming alone.
Is that an issue? What's the best way to start talking with people so I won't be Completely by myself when I arrive? I've read you can camp with people? Also, is it out of the spirit of Burning Man to get an RV or should you stick with a tent? What's the best way to get there from Reno? Lots of Noob questions I know.. Thanks everyone for your responses!
Oh, an I am studying the survival guide and will be bringin tons of water! :-)

Greetings -
RV's are the only way for some. for others a tent is easier. Its your choice. Remember though the dust on playa is like talcum powder, and will permeate the best seals on any piece of equipment or auto. I am still banging out dust in my truck.
so have a blast - for me a tent is cool. Rv's are too much hassle in my mind.

It doesn't matter if you camp with a group or not, unless you want to be part of a theme camp or share special features, generator, kitchen, etc.
Other than eplaya, there are many groups on tribe too.
You can't get to reno from tennessee.
You have to go north or south to get there.
San Francisco is the same distance by road as reno.

No organization.
May be some on tribe.
Transformus in NC.
Check their site.
Regionals in Atlanta, very new, one in Missouri.
Flipside in Texas.
Difficult to get tickets for transformus and flipside.
Makes regionals fairly useless.
Websites may be a good contact area though.
Check the regionals area on the front page of burningman site.
