BUT IS IT REALLY THAT GREAT? In today's Chronicle, there is a quote by Angela Fang, the organizer of Bay to Breakers. She says that " A lot of people who come out to the race also participate in Burning Man, and the motto for that is 'Leave no trace'. We want people to apply the same standard to our event."
I would like to know where she got that statistic from. What exactly does she mean by "a lot of people"?? My personal experience from Bay to Breakers is a whole bunch of drunk ex frat boys and girls and their shopping carts and floats full of beer. The mess that is left in the wake of this race is FAR from the ethos of LEAVE NO TRACE, so i am confused and disappointed by this comparison.
So, the question is this:
DO YOU DO BAY TO BREAKERS?
Burning Man Mentioned in SF Chronicle!!

No, but I know burners who do. Doc Pyro does, for instance. The article mentions 65 thousand runners, which means that it's bigger than burningman--and that doesn't include spectators, which are permitted at B2B.

No, but if I did, I'd probably be drunk and piss in the park
Then again I'd most likely haul away my own trash too.
I think the spawners are burners??

Fishy is mostly correct. I used to run B2B every year, then about seven years ago instead of running it I drank it. Now me an a whole bunch of people from Wheeeee!Ville and Gigsville head over to Foam's flat and hurl water balloons and insults at the runners. Her flat is at the very top of the Hayes Street hill, just about Mile 3. We have plenty of adult beverages and things start getting rather weird around 10 a.m. Since I am an accomplished runner (for example, I ran the Boston Marathon three weeks ago), B2B is more a party than anything else. And yes, many burners run/walk/somehow participate in B2B.
And what's wrong with a few frat boyz, anyway? Talk about being intolerant. Typical hippie.

Well, Doc, say hello to foam for me, if you're willing to take the guff. She's cool. As are many eplayans.
Oh well. Made my bed. I can lie in it.
