Mr Angel, I'm sure that you've read how the quanty of info that exists in the world doubles in a shorter and shorter period. I believe that a large % of people can't assimilate very much info without having the brain lock-up. Then, there's all the added stress. It kills.
It's far easier to tune in Dancing With the Stars and just let your mind melt. I sympathise with people who are maxed out on stress. I've always avoided it. Most people don't have that option. If I mention to someone that I expect unemployment to be between 25%---40% in 2 years, they freak out and change the subject. Too much stress.

..This is the weirdness of the age we live in. When John Newton had his revelation about the evils of slavery, his reaction was to have a spiritual awakening and pen the song "Amazing Grace". He'd been an atheist and the captain of a slave ship. Today, the perpetrators of much evil in the world do so under the auspices of religious institutions. So they begin where a sense of rightness informs all they do. How then does one awake from the stupor of religious beliefs? Big problem there.

I strretch my mind and my imagination every which way that I can. I just can't picture Bush having an awakening.
BTW, the 60 Y.O. regime in Paraguay has been replaced by a bishop,,, as president. The Bush family has a very large estate in Paraguay. It's assumed that he chose Paraguay because it doesn't have extradition agreements with any other country. That is expected to change with the new leader.

Who pulls Bush's strings? I think the answer lies in global finance. It's always about money and investments. Always. Opus Dei has been building a vast financial empire over the decades that seeks severe influence in many foreign governments. This in their view is "God's" work. When you travel that deeply into the world of capital, ethics becomes marginalized out of necessity. It's far too complicated for the average citizen to comprehend. Our so called leaders are beholden to it as well. That's why we can't expect nothing but the 'safest' of changes from them. Try to buck the capital system and you die, because they will kill you. See "Their Kingdom Come".

Small, independent communities are the way to go I think. That's what I think is important about the Burning Man thing...its modeling of a type of community structure that works pretty well, at least for a short time. Imperfectly, but well enough.

In fact, many had things to say when the Angle and I voiced the truth about Bush.

None of those folks post in this thread that often anymore. Not about anything good about Bush and the wars anyway.

BEIJING, May 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Christian Dior, the French fashion brand, has dropped American actress Sharon Stone from its advertising in China after the actress suggested the country's earthquake was "bad karma," media reported on Friday.

The May 12 earthquake left at least 68,516 people dead and 365,399 injured nationwide in China as of Thursday noon, according to the Information Office of the State Council on .

"We just want our customers and fans to realize that her personal comments are not related to the company and of course we don't support any type of commentary that will hurt the feelings of our customers," Dior said.

The 50-year-old screen star remarked last Saturday at the Cannes Film Festival that the earthquake that devastated southwest China's Sichuan Province might have been the result of bad "karma" since Chinese are "not nice" and "bad things" happen to them.

Stone on Wednesday apologized for her "karma" comments. She said she felt "deeply sorry for my inappropriate words and acts, which have hurt the Chinese people's feelings." But many in the country said they'll never forgive her.

On qq.com, a survey found that 69 percent of about 250,000 respondents said they didn't accept her apology and will never forgive her.

Films featuring Stone would be banned from any UME cinema in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, the Beijing Times quoted Ng See-Yuen, founder of the UME Cineplex chain, as saying on Wednesday.

Irish-American actress Stone became world-famous for "Basic Instinct" (1992) and was nominated for a leading actress Oscar for her performance in "Casino" (1995), according to film database IMDB.com. But she's also been a frequent nominee at the Razzie awards, an alternative "roll of dishonor" highlighting the year's worst cinematic achievements.
