So you admit you're a Christian...you think...theme camp

Post by janegirl » Thu May 15, 2008 3:31 pm

So you admit you're a Christian and think there should be a theme camp?

Burning Man has values that go along with the best of Christianity. Just look at the 10 principles. A church that believes in these things and practices them is just the sort of church people are looking for.

A church theme camp should offer people the opportunity to worship, to meditate, and even concerts would be cool. What would be needed for a great church theme camp?

Well, gee sir, I say, I do say that values must be to-tally ri-dic-ulous. I say Let's get rid of the principles of Burning Man. Forget about the Black Rock Rangers, can the Earth Guardians. Why there can be no proper reason for holding on to values at all!

Christianity is not the only or even the best source of values.

Look, the hazing was mild, and predictable. I'm not sure I condone it, but it was gonna happen. And that's the sort of statement that earns christians the hatred of those who don't belong to the country's dominant religion.

I've developed my own values and morals, I don't need a bunch of 4000+year old bedtime stories
to guide me and neither do you unless you have been brainwashed since childhood
and are unable to break free of the chains that bind your mind.

And what in the heck do the Rangers or the dirt guardians have to do with christain (or my) values ?

This is the header from the Google Group :

Description: When Christian groups have attended Burning Man in the past they have missed the complete participation aspect.
The Emerging Church Movement is ideally poised to bring worship of God to Burning Man.
Discuss how the Emerging Church Movement could best build a theme camp to bring worship to the Burn

I think I'll bring a giant golden bull and erect it on a pedestal. Then we can all dance wildly around it in a pagan frenzy! Sound like a plan?

1. Thou shall wear whimsical clothing.

2. Thou must be original every year, just like everyone else.

3. Thou shall build a universal reciprocity economy with money from buying and selling.

4. Thou must suffer in the dust and bass beat, or it won't be the same.

5. ?

Don't you fools understand anything??
Without Christ, how can you tell the difference between right and wrong?
The entire concept of moral decency exists only because of God. Without Christianity we'd all behave like animals.
"Right" is what's described in the Bible. Everything else is Wrong.
Proof of faith-based beliefs is unnecessary. If you BELIEVE that 2 + 2 = 5, then it DOES and that's that.

You people need to get straight right quick.
