Playa sophomore! 2d year advice?
Hey - This will be my second burn! Coming from SF I finally made it in 2007 - only to see the Man burn on the second day!
For you newbies, I won't spoil it except to say BM is MUCH more intense than anything you will have imagined. Will you be able to experience it all? NO WAY. But try! That's what I did! This year, I'm going to try to do it a little different. Any veteran burners want to talk about what they did different their second year?

mmm...second year. Well, after your first, you probably know to bring out radder clothes
Plus you have a heads up on what to expect for weather. I'd say take the things that you enjoyed and do them right off the bat (as opposed to taking all week to find out what you liked
) Then it's free sailing for new experiences. THEN, your third year out, repeat until you have your own Playa Cookbook of things you want from your week.

Radder clothes
Great ideas! I talked to a vet recently who GUARANTEED me that it'll be freezing this year, compared to 2007... so I guess I should find some fur...

oh it will be freezing out there alright...for gallium if you're lucky. 2007 was mild, we're due for scorching HOT days and 70's nights (but still bring the faux furry fur)Playadreamz wrote:Great ideas! Welcome back!
What we did differently the second year was have a theme camp (Bavarian Illuminati Motorcycle Cabal) and performed some public ceremonies. We stamped passports from the Artist's Republic of Fremont, helped install Das Ammouniten Projekt, and attended an AfterBurn wedding reception at the House of Doors, where they burned the big fiberglass sphere that was the mold for Temporal Decomposition.
I guess in the second year I got more...engaged.
