Not affiliated with burning man but there will be burning and it's a FREE party, free entry, free living, free expression etc.

In the Simpson Desert, in South Australia, on the winter solstice (June 21) all are welcome to the mutoid waste park for Mighty Burning Demon festival.

This is a total DIY festival, bring everything you need and some more. It is 60km away from the nearest store, no quick trip to gerlach here, we're in the middle of nowhere...

I'm going to this with a bunch of my friends from Melbourne. Making a road trip of it... have you been to this before? if you have it would be great if i could chat to you to find out more about it and know what we need and don't need to bring.

Had a good look on all the links/webpages I could find... but no Map!
Where can I get one?

How about help with the Demon's transport, do you need some?
Do you meet regularly around Footscray?

I have no experience on the desert... so feeling a bit unsure about the logistics of the thing. All the suggestions you have on Angelfire and mysapce are quite straightforward... but still... things like: can a van get there? Is a 4WD fundamental? How cold is cold?

Any tips about the event are welcome. If possible to join one of your "meetings" in Footscray even better.

Hey, thanks for the offer of building and transport help - were nearly there.. THanks for the offer.

Cold can be 0c - 3c at night, rising to around 20c during the day!, bring extra blankets and thermals. IT's a beautiful place out there, not much need for a 4WD unless you plan to drive like a bogan or go completely of track. Mutonia is right on the Oddanatta track, if you see 2 planes on their tails, and a big water tank dog, your there.

There is bore water on site, you'll need to bring drinking water.

So bring on the free party, free space, free burn!
