I have an installation idea that involves green fire. I was wondering if anyone had and suggestions or experience changing the color of fire. I heard that epsom salt burns green. I've been on the internet and people sell chemicals and products but I was looking for something that I mioght find under the kitchen sink. The plan is to use it to treat wood and then burn the wood.
Appreciated

Suggest copper chloride, or Boric acid which is sold in most pharmacies in powdered form. Haven't tried this yet myself.
Hope that helps.

If I soak the wood in the copper chloride then let it dry do you think it would still have the effect.
The plan is for a burning tree, so kind of want the color in specific placts (along the branches/foliage)
maybe I could paint the particles onto the wood...?

Funny you should ask about green flames. I just spent the weekend at the Western Winter Blast in Lake Havasu. Our primary goal was to change the color of our flame thrower to red and/or green. I had great results. I would be more than happy to share the formulas and info if you wish. Contact me by PM so we don't use up so much space here.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
several mixtures for a green flame...
