The $300 Jacuzzi...

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Mon Jun 09, 2008 3:43 pm

This thread is about the 300 Gallon Jacuzzi I designed, that can be installed above or below ground, with jets and dual filtration systems one

The Tub is $150, the Skimmer Filter Pump is $80, Drain Filter Pump $40, 8' wood deck $20. This version only circulates the and clorinates with the 1" tablets. If you use this off grid or at the burn you will also need a 50 gallon drum nearby to hold your evaperation compensating water.

with a skimmer opening and return jet built to be indestructable.

This would be a great project to take to Burningman. I am looki into camp shower water heaters to heat the filtered recycled water.

These are easy to build, can be put anywhere and run off of a car battery and a solar cell.

made using one of these, a 300 gal 2 1/2' deep Rubbermaid Water Tank.

Wow! This is a great Idea.
Now all you need is a couple of Playa Bunnies.
You know what they say, If you built it they will come.

Nice stuff, Reb!!!

What do you do to purify the water and kill the germs?

I alway's wanted to do a mock Yellowstone geyser basin with geysers and hotsprings, but when I would always tell a friend that I would use it at BM the first thing hey mention is the hygiene stuff.

If any one wants to buy some old jacuzzi tubs and lives in Northern NJ, email me. My ex-nephew in law has three of them. They look like they can hold about 6 people comfortably and 10 on the playa! They're really built tough and was used for rentals.

With good pool maintance, constant testing, and pre-cleaned bodies help a lot....

Here is the chemicals I am using, with this system you have the choice of clorine or bromine based systems. I chose Clorine the filter pumps use standard 1" pellets (the bucket in the picture, about $10)

I am new to all this too, so it is quite a journey, I try to keep you up to date on the forum with all the good, the bad, and the cute, I find out along the way.

Here is the "Pyramid Replacement Operation" it was done by Nick (he must be a burner if not in the real sense, then in heart, he was busy getting ready to upright the Pyramid by himself, when I walked out. What a guy.

Nick, passed by and saw the wind had toppled the pyramid and decided to lend a hand in uprighting it...
