ALASKA CAMP
We have not decided on the exact theme of our camp this year however we are in desperate need of a large igloo(dome). We do not mind building it ourselves which would mean we are looking for a place between Washington state and Nevada to get cheap steel and a place to find used canvas. Otherwise if someone is selling a rather large geo-dome let us know.

that would be a good idea but will need either a large dog sled or a bunch of round trips... but it would be the camp everyone could go to for ice cubes (everyone needs ice and we could control the Playa, perhaps even subjugating Camp Apokiliptkia, we learned well from OPEC)
would be good to start plans now and see how many folks from Ak will be there so you can get an idea of numbers and needs...
maybe there can be some 'Iditaburn" T shirts made up for the Ak camp !!

I saw a 25x40 inflatable dome on Redding Ca craigslist. I am not at all connected with this just saw this topic and remembered seeing the listing a few days ago.

Rockin'. This will be my second trip from AK to BRC.
I'm starting to think about a storage space in Reno to keep stuff at from one year to the next, because I really didn't dig on all the stuff I ended up buying and then throwing away because I couldn't bring it back to Alaska with me, even after giving as much of it away as I could...

Alaska?
Really, from Alaska? I see you do have a Regional Contact up there. Ever consider Villaging it? Try Snowflake Village: www.clevian.com/snowflake2008
We cater to the long-distance traveler. We have people from the PRC, Canada, and Europe. No Village fees.
How big a dome do you need? We fly a 20' parachute-over-pvc dome that weighs just 110 pounds, and stands 60mpH winds with ease. The six PVC struts are woven together, basket-style, with parallel struts for doors and strength-triangles throughout the design. The whole thing costs maybe $200 to build. This year we are probably expanding to a 24 foot version.

Hey,
Are Yukon visitors welcome to stop by to say hi? To be honest though I want as little to do with snow or ice as possible until absolutely necessary, since winter is pretty much around the corner as soon as it's gone!!
Cheers,
Skyneedle

Hey! More AK burners! Camp Tramp Stamp will be populated with a few alaskans this year! I myself am from southeast and will be getting married on the playa, so friends and family from Ak will be there too. I look forward to finding more of ya out there in the sun. we're all pretty easy to spot, what with being blindingly white, and all... 8)
