Ending on a Monday?
This will be my 3rd burn, but I am still very confused about the 2008 dates. The website says that the event ends on the 1st of September. That's a Monday. For the past two years, we always left the very next day after the burn. Are they burning the guy on a Sunday, this time?
I'm traveling in from the east, so I'm trying to get situated with these dates early before the airlines get us all up the butt again. Someone help me out! :(

Seriously? You've been to BRC for three years and you never wondered what happened to all those massive pieces of burn art that were just hanging out all unsingedlike on Sunday morning? Sunday's the temple burn, also known as "How the fuck do I find my camp now that someone stole all the street signs" night.

It was a Tuesday....I remember it well. Or rather I know we showed up Monday afternoon and were there to see it so barring a warping of the space time continuum (which is probably the one thing I haven't seen on the Playa yet) It was a Tuesday.plowman wrote:The Man burns on Saturday.
and once on late Monday....or was it early Tuesday?
Time was already a blur by then.
The Temple burns on Sunday.
When in doubt, push the RED button!
Counts as Two Burns
Every street in the city is in a different time zone, so who knows?manowar wrote:It was a Tuesday....I remember it well. These girls drove into the city and saw the man as they drove in.
When they finished setting up camp, they walked up tho the esplanade where everyone is gathered around something on fire.
After a long time, one asks me, with a puzzled look, "so where is the man anyway?"

I dunno. My campmates always want to leave the morning after. Maybe I should stay the extra night this time.

What they all said. The man burns before the end of the event. It burns on Saturday night, it's awesome, you already know this. But the official dates of the event run until Monday, allowing for the temple burn, as well as other post-man-burn ridiculousness.
Pull out early or leave on time, whatever you see as being fit and functional.
