Soooo my Father has been talking about going to Burning Man, asked if I was into it and I will be floating around this forum in the near future to figure that out. It said I should start here so here I am and I will be glad to meet you!!

...never. Kind of out of the blue actually but he seemed pretty excited about it. If it consists of as much debauchery as I am hoping I might be game.

The debauchery is hit or miss depending on you and the people you meet. The only people in my camp of 10 my first year that got the nasty on was the married couple and whomever it was they brought home to play with.

maybe coz Im a hetero male, but the sexual debauchery at Burning Man is highly highly overrated. The sheer whimsical madness good-vibe debauchery is in full force and is the best aspect of the event.

By old school standards, all of burning man would qualify as debauchery.

My impression is that it's a wild artsy event with lots of noise and fun. With so many young people there... well... nature will take its course. But for old folks like me, it's just a fun ride and the experience of a lifetime (keep in mind I've never been there).

If my wife thought I was going to debauch, she'd let the air out of my tires and take away my credit card.

You guys do whatever you want. Guys like me will be there to hold back your hair while you puke.

For the record I never meant to imply that I assumed Burning Man is a big messy orgy buuuut sure the thought crossed my mind once or twice or three times. Also I do not drink usually and am not into girls who resemble Linda Blair in The Exorcist but I do like merry drunk people and might have a drink or two myself. I suppose I just contradicted myself but I would like to think Burning Man would be just the place to do so. Point is I have no point and if you dont like it than point the pointy point point.

So what would you (an experienced 'Burner') say the ratio of young to not as young is? I deal with enough terds from my own generation daily so I wouldnt mind more wise (old) folk to party with.

I saw someone banned from the dpw bar, which I'm guessing is a rare event.
He was not that young and from the uk.
Not violent, just too weird for the dpw bar.

Banning someone for being weird is kind of weak. I would like to find a camp that not only accepts the weird but encourages them to be even more so.

He was the guy walking around making a moo/meep sound.
You could find him anywhere.
if you ever need to find someone and they know what to look for, it really cuts though the hum.
He got so drunk he couldn't quit mooping and it freaked them out.
Quite an accomplishment, considering that party!
