On a round the world tour catching some of the best outdoor Psy and creative festivals the globe has to offer , fly into San Fran on the 21st Aug 08 with a smile and a ruck sack.. heading to my first burn.. coming off theback of the 7 day Boom festival in portugal... got no contacts .. got no gear ... any pearls of wisdom for this south african nomad.....

Here are two simple, prudent things to do: #1) read the Survival Guide, and #2) take out a large life insurance policy on yourself naming one 'Sensei' as the beneficiary.

Of course, read the survival guide! Black Rock Desert can kick your ass if your unprepared. Here's a "on the cheap" list of gear"
a vehicle you can sleep in
a good sized blue or silver tarp
100 feet of rope
two pieces of two foot rebar bent slightly at top
two tennis balls
duct tape
a hammer
a knife
and..food,water,and sunblock for your stay
