Ditto on the Diddley, bye Bo.

Oh dear...

Bo Diddly has moved on across the waters.

Tonight is a Blues Music night, I reckon.

And Irena Sendler... May you be twice as blessed in the next world as blessings you gave in this one.

Amber Desiree Hatley 1977 - 2008

Lake Tahoe resident Amber Desiree Hatley died April 26, 2008.

She was a true Burner and loved the Playa. You could always find her dancing somewhere on the Playa. She was always smiling. Her laugh was contagious.

She will be missed by many.

If you knew Amber, i'll be setting up a memorial at the Temple to pay your respects.

I love you Amber.

Tim Russert Dead,

"News at 6:00

An NBC spokeswoman, Allison Gollust, said in an e-mail message this afternoon that the cause of Mr. Russert’s death was not yet known.

At the time he was stricken, Mr. Russert had been recording voice-overs for this Sunday’s program. Mr. Russert, who was also the Washington bureau chief of NBC News and a senior vice president, had recently returned from a trip to Italy to celebrate the recent graduation of his son, Luke, from Boston College."

Hey cowboy angel, if Boston is the Home of the Gods, then why did Boston College move to Italy?

Heard that this event even brought back the dead: Tom Brokaw came back to the network out of retirement to announce it!

Mr. Russert’s political analysis was born from experience: he had worked as a counselor for Gov. Mario M. Cuomo of New York in 1983 and 1984, and for five years before that had been special counsel to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York.

IT must have been the Diablo Sauce!

Being a news junkie I watched the coverage that all 3 of the original networks had on his passing...from NBC's wall to wall stuff to ABC's simply eloquent handling of it...

NBC also gave him a classic "fade to black" and a "white screen version of in memoriam...which is a pretty substantial tribute...one that you rarely see....

It goes without saying that he will be missed.

Heard about Tim Russert a couple of hours ago. I've worked with him on numerous events and he was always a gentleman and genuine nice guy in an industry of way too few nice guys. Sad to hear of his passing.
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Comedian George Carlin,
a counter-culture hero famed for his routines about drugs and dirty words, died of heart failure at a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sunday, a spokesman said. He was 71.

His routine "Losing Things" (from the album "Playing With Your Head") is one of my very favorites.
He certainly earned that Mark Twain Prize...NOT receiving it posthumously would have been a bonus.

George was one of the most educated mainstream comidians in existance. I am very sad to hear of his parting.

I am not shocked though after his wife passed away last fall I assumed it was only a matter of time.

About this time, someone is telling you to get on the plane. "Get on the plane. Get on the plane." I say, "fuck you, I'm getting IN the plane! IN the plane! Let Evil Knievel get ON the plane! I'll be in here with you folks in uniform! There seems to be less WIND in here!"

I glanced a headline earlier this week but just didn't want to read it.
There are some amazing comedians out there but (IMO) he stood head and shoulders above the rest.

I saw George Carlin, Bobcat Goldthwaite, and Andrew Dice Clay do a show in Seattle circa 1990. I think i tore a muscle, and peed a little from laughing.

Had one year sober.
Killed by a drunk driver coming home from an AA meeting on his motorcycle.

RIP: Former Senator Jesse Helms - R - North Carolina

I learned of your passing early this morning and I think it's only fitting that you were taken from us on the 4th of July....

I have every letter, every email, and I can recall every conversation we had....and there were several. We didn't see eye to eye on some things, but you won my admiration and my respect...and my friendship.

While others may celebrate your passing and say unkind things, I got to know more about you than many...and I truly feel a sense of profound loss.

Goodbye my friend!
