Fashion Show themed camp - need people from LA
Fashion Show themed camp - need people from LA
Hello everyone,
I'm somewhat an experienced burner ( six years in a row - but have not attended for the past 3)
This year I'm planning to put together a theme camp with a fashion show theme. The plans are still in the beginning stage and I wanted to know if anyone from Los Angeles area is interested in participating in it.
Layout of the camp is still up for planning and discussion but the main purpose i would love to very much narrow down to fashion shows.
here are some of the ideas
1) Large fancy walkway
2) Decent Sound system
3) Sitting areas on two sides
4) Photographers and Videographers area up front
5) Make up and wardrobe area
6) "Bad Ass" Green Room for the "models and celebs" to hang out in
7) Registration area for models, designers and photographers
The way I imagine every afternoon we would have a several hours lasting fashion show with all the playa glamour and afterwards a party to celebrate the best costumes of the day.
We would photograph and print out every day the best pictures of the day
on location and create a wall of fame and a wall of shame.
I assume you already have an idea what kind of people I'm looking for
- creative artsy, fartsy helpers
- make up artists
- fashion designers ( you can be as wakcy as you whish)
- body painters
- models
- photographers
- videographers
- security guy types
- writers?
- and a few construction people
As is right now I'm not sure about the cost but I imagine not much more than maybe $50 per individual.
I have quite a few resources in LA to make things happen for close to nothing and if you are tight on budget there is always a comfy couch you can bring or a great looking rug or maybe your carpenter skills.
I will be having a pool party on May 3rd at my house (as a 40 year anniversary to 1968 - theme hehehee...) and that would be the perfect time to meet up with my crowd and see what we can do about this camp this year.
To get more familiar with me and my surrounding google my name - csaba fikker - go to my personal site at csabaandshari dot com and if you like what you see and hear let me know.

let me know if you're looking for DJs too.
i posted a bit about myself here: http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=23933
you may also want to drop a post on modelmayhem.com and dripbook.com. they are both good places to find models, photographers, stylists, makeup artists etc...

If we have another DJ as well - would you mind sharing time and space?
Yeah, I have listened to your music, ( love Electrosexual) -I liked it and I love the fact that you have done all sorts - all I would ask is to be flexible with the types of music during fashion shows and we are on.
I will be away for the week end but lets get in touch next week ok?

My camp just crapped out on me, 11 people out in the course of three days. i actually work in the photography field, as a stylist, and would love to help. Looks like I am making the trip solo this year and meeting up with some mid week late comers. I can't say that my styling is fierce or flaming, more like burnt. E-mail me, would love to help. So-cal local also, if that helps.
It never really ends, right?
