The last I saw, we were both working the same job and he told me that he was about 15K still in debt for the helicopter ride they did not order. I asked Tom Price if BM would reimburse these poor kids some of that cost. Tom's reply. " I don't work for Burning Man anymore". Crypto, I have an email to prove it. He's married to Andie Grace so that was a poor put off and unworthy of the spirit of sharing and caring that I thought was Burning Man. That meeting was in Feb. I was in Texas from then till now and I haven't seen Sebastian. He did tell me however, that he and his wife probably wouldn't be going this year. I don't blame them.

I don't know that the llc should pay for the medivac. Medicare eventually paid for Scott's evacuations. There is a sort of quick decision making that does take it out fo your hands for a medical emergency. (Spoken like a EMT's wife, to be sure.)
On the other hand, it does look like there are a number of unneeded medivacs, and they do put people at risk. There were a lot of crashes represented at the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial this year. I think the movement that will curtail that is afoot.

There may be some consequence to not having adapted to the altitude on the playa.
It usually takes at least a week to adapt.

Crypto - as you know an Airambulance is a double edged sword. It gets patients to a needed trauma center in the least amount of time, but at the same time is the most dangerous per mile - by far.

air ambulances here in Seattle have had a dismal record for safety. I can recall 5 crashes. 3 of them killing all on board.

is it perfect? no. is it necessary - yes. IMO i believe the risks still outweigh the benefit.

now back to your regularly scheduled topic of NOS Huffing.

Ahh - memories of a largely misspent youth....

Whippets inhaled from a soda water dispenser.....are the closest thing to a huge orgasm I can imagine. I remember a party where they were being passed throuhg the window to a couple having sex. Wow.....

I am glad I lived to outgrow most of that shit.

Bear in mind that nitrous is is used in some engines for it's oxygen releasing ability among others.
While not as high risk as pure oxygen around a fire, if it is too close to a fire, even in the open air it can enhance burning.
I don't know if I would use this stuff near open flame or someone smoking.

Answering my own initial question, it seems your cops view the intention to inhale it more seriously than mine. Both California & Nevada rate it as an misdermeaner, so I doubt I could roll upto a catering supply shop and ask to buy a load of canisters so I can make lots of whipped cream at BM.
Plus then there's the whole driving there & risk getting caught by patrols m'larcy.

Nevermind, with any luck I'll find someone who can hook me up so I can get high, shit my pants, die and then shit my pants again

Getting it is easy:

...or some restaurant supplys carry it in larger cities.

You wouldn`t want to advertise what you were going to do with it though.

yo Daddy. Of course a catering shop might think you're planning on inhaling it,...but really, if you think about it, where else would someone plan to "walk around the playa fizzin' whip cream all over anybody"?

..just sayin' that copious amounts of whip cream don't necessarily mean you're breathin' it? If you went to 5 catering shops I bet you'd get one to believe you...
blow.

I live in Reno. They sell it in the head shops (gee, I wonder who goes to a head shop to make pastries...) and also in kitchen supply stores. I've purchased mass quantities and never had anyone so much as raise an eyebrow at me. Online's the way to go if you want big quantities though. It's just way cheaper that way.

Are psilocybin mushrooms legal in Nevada?

The positive psychological effects of psilocybin -- the active ingredient in hallucinogenic mushrooms -- last for more than a year, say scientists.

Shrooms aren't legal anywhere in the United States, even here, in the home of questionable legality. Amanita mushrooms are legal, as are salvia and most research chems, but those are harder to get ahold of these days. Certain Indian tribes here are allowed to consume otherwise illegal drugs that are considered a part of their religion, but you can bet your ass they're not gonna let you off without proof you're a part of said tribe. Plus, ya know, we have hookers and gambling.

Dancesafe.org wrote:WHAT IS NITROUS OXIDE?

* Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is a gas that has been safely used as a mild anesthetic in combination with oxygen for over a century.
* It is classified as a "dissociative anaesthetic."
* Nitrous is legally available for over-the-counter sale, although in many states it is illegal to sell nitrous to a minor. Some states also have laws against inhaling nitrous for intoxication purposes.
* Nitrous is most commonly sold in small canisters for use in making whipped cream ("whippits"), although it can also be purchased in large tanks.

HOW IS NITROUS USED?

* Nitrous is always inhaled.
* Users either inhale the gas directly from a tank or else dispense it first into balloons.

WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS?

* A lungful of nitrous oxide results in the temporary loss of motor control and a "dissociative" psychological effect, where sensations and perceptions become disconnected.
* Users report a dreamy mental state, and may experience mild audio and visual hallucinations.
* The effects come on immediately and usually last less than a minute. Repeated inhalations of nitrous can extend and intensify the experience.

BE CAREFUL.

* Nitrous produces an immediate loss of motor control. Stay seated if you are going to inhale nitrous. There have been many injuries and a few deaths from people who have fallen down after inhaling nitrous.
* Your brain needs oxygen! Brain damage and suffocation can result from inhaling pure nitrous for an extended period of time.
* Nitrous can be extremely cold when it comes out of the tank. Cold gas can burn the skin as well as the lips and throat. Dispensing the gas into a balloon and allowing it to warm up before inhaling it can reduce this risk.
* High pressure levels in the tank can shoot the gas out at a dangerously fast speed and damage the lungs. Again, it is safer to inhale from a balloon than from a tank.
* Nitrous can be psychologically addictive. While rare, many people have become addicted to nitrous and other dissociatives.
* The regular use of nitrous can cause long-lasting numbness in the extremities and other neurological problems.
