Heya, I noticed while reading the theme camps listings that a few mentioned "bartering." Isn't that a big ol' no-no? I've always gifted and been gifted and for me this is integral to B Man's community.
Any one else notice this? Does it bug you?

I don't think it's a big no-no, even if some folk with the org will tell you it's discouraged. Nor does it bother me.
Frankly some of the best interactions I've had on playa have been barter based. For myself I have a much less negative reaction to someone who comes into my camp and asks to barter than I do when someone comes in and asks for a gift, but that's just grumpy old me.....

As part of a theme camp's interaction, barter and sales are not allowed.
If you run out of gas and someone gives you five gallons, I think it would be polite to give them cash.
I once gave money to a tiny, very generous camp.
They were reluctant.
I told them to use it for next year.
Most people didn't realize how expensive the stuff they were giving away was.
