Costco carports & hammocks
A question for those of you that have a costco carport. Do you think it is strong enough to support a hammock
(figure a 250 lb guy). I've hung on one at costco and it seems ok, but a little shaky. But then they also don't have it lashed & staked down, which should tighten it up a bunch.

You can bend the poles with a person in a hammock. Don't argue with me, my fat ass did it. Nope, MyLarry doesn't know I hung the hammock, I let him think it's a wind torque which happened during set up. It did, just the other carport. We have two and I switched it around so the slightly bent pole and the slightly bent joint-knuckle thingy are in the same batch. Oh, and these are old Sam Club carports, which are even heftier than the new Costco ones.

No. Get a self-supporting frame hammock so you can move it around under the shade, or learn how to rig poles & guylines.

I am not sure it can hold up to a hammock, but I know you can make a tree style stand, 3 legs, that should support it easy. The poles on the frame are 2" but thinned walled. Maybe if you went to the hardware store and bought reinforced electrical poles that could work. Good luck
