One thing I learned from BM, is that you never presume anything, but I just get a kick out of it when others do.JezebelinHell wrote: but all the boys I know are pretty well aware of my lesbian leanings, so looks aren't gonna get me anywhere with them. Maybe I can find some big scary lesbians to do it for me...
WE all have tools we want to play with but it so sad that we don't come complete with a full set!
Jezebelin, I would just call or just the internet instead of wasting your time driving. If you do find one, maybe Cap can install it for you during the day at BM and have a good laugh and a beer together!

Well, here's hopin' I can fix it before the burn. If I can I'm going to have space for one more person with lots of gear or two more people with minimal gear, if that makes anyone want to help me fix it. I'm leaving Sunday night or Monday morning, planning on staying till Tuesday so I can help out with Exodus. Oh, and I am kind of a gearhead, but I know nothing about installing glass. I looked it up online for my model of Saturn (1991 SL-1 sedan) and those instructions said I needed to take the panel completely off the door. It looked like something you needed two or three people to do properly.
P.S. I hate driving to BRC. My night vision is terrible, even with my glasses, and the suicidal bunnies freak me the fuck out. If I wind up ridesharing and you're willing to drive the whole way I may be willing to pay for all the gas.

Jez, if you go to your local pick-your-parts, there's usually someone hanging around who will change glass for cheap. Flash your baby blues and a little green and the problem will go away. http://www.dddismantlers.com/

Here you go.
Nuclear and solar, our future.

Under our current rules, this would not qualify as a mutant vehicle.
Too original.

Most newer trucks are soft in the middle.
I hit an F150 and left a big hole in it the shape of my car. (T bone)
And speed = inertia, meaning the faster car often comes out better.
Lighter cars have a big advantage in having less mass to dissipate energy from in certain crashes.
It all depends.
I think on average suvs are thirty times more likely to be in an accident too.
Part of that is your driving, but active safety is incredibly poor, stopping, avoidance, stability.

SUV's have a much higher roll over rate then cars.
I would drive a Sherman tank if I was concerned about getting in an accident with my Saturn SW-2.
Saturn doesn't even make a vehicle that gets the gas mileage the SW2 gets today. Even their so called hybred!!
42mpg highway and once almost 47mpg returning with a good westerly from BM!
The Prius gets 49 mpg reportedly.

Enable your bbcode to make things work.
If they don't work in preview, keep trying.
Anyone notice the republicans are now stopping passage of a bill attempting to stop speculation driving up gas prices?
I am now having trouble buying uncontaminated gas without ethanol.
Sure sign of a recession and a huge price hike hidden too.
Gas station operator told me how many problems it's causing.
Destroying fuel equipment, etc.
Any water and he says it congeals and you won't leave the parking lot.
I guess it means we have a depression coming, like it or not.
And my car won't run right on it.
If I had storage space, I'd start buying race gas, a real bargain now.
Complain to your representatives about the Great Ethanol Fraud.
Don't wait until you have to rebuild your whole engine.

It might interest you to know that we've been exporting gas and diesel at record quantities while our refineries were operating at 75% capacity. Too much oil,,, we had to get rid of it.
" U.S exports of diesel fuel in April averaged 387,000 barrels per day, up almost seven-fold from 59,000 barrels a day in the same month a year earlier"
"However, both the EIA and API admitted they did not know why daily U.S. gasoline exports to Canada skyrocketed to 41,000 barrels in January-April this year from 9,000 barrels in 2007."

The fuel goes to whoever pays the most. Just wait til they do this with food.

The EEstor seems to be moving ahead;
"EEStor claims that, using an automated production line and existing
power electronics, it will initially build a 15-kilowatt- hour energy-
storage system for a small electric car weighing less than 100
pounds, and with a 200-mile driving range. The vehicle, the company
says, will be able to recharge in less than 10 minutes."

58 mpg
Drove the new VW diesel Jetta sedan for 85 miles, and got 58 mpg. Very impressed. It's going to come in a wagon version too, so I'm stoked! I'll probably be looking to get one in a few months when they're available for sale. Currently getting 35 on the highway (not bad), but 58, wow!
