Help writing a script.

Post by Wolverine » Tue Feb 24, 2004 9:47 pm

I have been asked by a friend with a 1 hour slot on Friday nights at a local Co-op radio station to take the air for a trial run.

I now come to y'all to help me write a script for a radio "play". Anything goes.

If this is not the place to do such thing - OK chastise me - I can take it. Otherwise write a few lines. We'll get a tape of the show and bring it to ask a Playa station to play it.

I'll start by saying that the studio is small, so we'll have 2 characters 1 male, 1 female. (plus a tech for effects)

Shirley, a de facto at-random reading of eplaya posts could be passed off as the Wisdom of the Ancients (unexpurgated version).

I guess that one would start

Backgroud sound of too many voices speaking/whispering all at once.
Booming Voice (loads of echo): Read the damn suvival guide.
<all voices go silent> <pause 5 seconds>

FRIGHTENED NEWBIE: OK, but what is it?
BOOMING VOICE: You will only know when you get there.
Voices start up again<mostly muffled with some audible lines>
1/3 Mad Max
1/3 Dr. Suess
1/3 Las Vegas
The worst of New Orleans and the best of Disneyland
Remember when you were a kid and got to play house?
Now you're an adult and you get to play city!
its a celebration of the Arts
its just a bunch of dust covered, bad smelling, dope smoking, naked, grey hair hippy communal in the desert
it's like the special olympics of art
Drowning out the voice mosh
BOOMING VOICE:It's a fucking camping trip in the desert

Thanks Rodent, but I can't take credit for that. I directly stole it from a post in another thread:

The voice mosh starts to form a beat, faintly at first, then building through the next lines
NEWBIE: (excitedly anxious) I heard there's tons of drugs, and sex, and crazy hippies.
VOICE: YOU DIDN"T READ THE SURVIVAL GUIDE
NEWBIE: Really I did, but what's the REAL story.
Voice mosh continues to build the beat, chant changes to
<a mix of 'Piss Clear' quotes>
