Black light EL wire

Does it exist? I've got an awesome blacklight reactive hat that I'd love to decorate with black light, sound reactive EL wire, but I can't find any black light EL wire anywhere. Am I on a quest for something that just doesn't exist? And if so, is there a reason for that or should I go make a fortune off the idea?

You mean EL wire that IS a black light? That would be cool, but I don't think I've ever seen any.

As for sound reactive, you can get sound-sensitive driver from www.coolneon.com for like, 7 bucks or so.

No such thing sadly. Closest thing you'll find it black light (UV) "Cold Cathode fluorescent lamps" (CCFLs). They also run off of 12 volt.

SpaceManSpiff that is a really good idea! Thoes el-wire folks should add that to the product line!
You may also want to look into lighting your hat with blacklight LEDs.

Couldn't you use UV LEDs? You would want to screen them from direct contact with your skin and other's eyes, but you could probably do that easily. It is gonna rot your hat a little quicker...
