Sounds to me that this group (jesus-is-savior) considers anything that's not an established religion to be "occult". They say environmental education is occult? WTF?
So, basically, if we all sit on our hands and pray and keep consuming and praying and polluting and praying and destroying the earth by doing what we've always done, then we won't turn ourselves into a big ball of dirt and fire -yeah, that's what will happen-? Bullshit.And this surge in mysticism and "pagan revival" is, IMHO, a backlash from years and years of organized religion shoving arbitrary rules and "history" down our throats that we have now (thru science) discovered were almost-truths created by humans (men/women, whatever) and the REAL teachings of every recognized spiritual leader were really all about loving one another, not obeying the leader of the church or get strung up, burned at the stake, excommunicated, mutilated, etc.... That is NOT what Jesus taught. It's what was taught by the people in power that wanted to control the hippies back then.
And now we're getting our brains and hearts back and following the original teachings in our own way, in turn, sucking money out of the churches. They will implode but our hearts will be full and strong and we'll have one HELL of a community to support each other when they do. And if you couldn't tell, that's what Burning Man is all about for me.
