Red Nose Dist. Needs Team Ldr to Erect Large Structure

The Red Nose District is a large Esplanade entertainment camp. Last year we were the largest theme camp. We have three enormous structures that include Cirque Berzerk, Totem, and the Nome. The Nome is our private community center. It is a 4,000 sq ft tubular-steel tarped structure with numerous rooms, including an industrial kitchen, dining for 100, large living room, hot showers and so forth. The Nome is based in the Santa Cruz mountains.

We have built the Nome for a number of years on the Playa. It is well debugged and well documented with a complete set of plans and assembly drawings. Nevertheless, it is large and complicated and requires a team of 4-6 for three days to assemble it.

We need a capable person to lead that crew on the Playa (and maybe subsequently assist us with to build the electrical grid and water system). Many of the potential crew members already have experience from last year.

Because our structures are so large, Burning Man grants us a limited number of special early arrival slots so we can begin construction a week ahead of the event. In other words, if you take this job, you are one of the first people to land on a bare Playa August 18. There won't be anyone else but us and some BM staff working on Center Camp. Black Rock City then rises around us as the other early arrival teams land and build their stuff. It is an exciting experience. It is also a 2.5 week commitment. The tear down is the reverse, but it goes a lot quicker.
