Dutch Man Injured in Mooning Accident

UTRECHT, Netherlands - Utrecht police say a 21-year-old Dutch man is recovering after a "mooning" that went horribly wrong.

A police statement says the man and two others had run down a street in Utrecht with their pants pulled down in the back "for a joke."

It says that at one point the 21-year-old "pushed his behind against the window of a restaurant" that broke and resulted in "deep wounds to his derriere."

The statement released Tuesday says police detained the three men after the incident Sunday morning. But the cafe owner decided not to press charges after the men agreed to pay for the broken window.

The injured man was treated for his injuries at a nearby hospital.

A marine suffering from PTSD and his brother drove off the Grand Canyon in the Twin Overlooks area, got hung in a tree and walked away.
That's the epic fail part of this one.
The rest of the story is quite sad.

So many people get hurt in parks.
What are the odds of driving off the Grand Canyon on purpose and surviving?
Incredible luck!

I can't find a picture from the Grand Canyon of the car.

I meant the color etc. :) I didnt mean that it was sitting that way but it probably has some nice dings and scratches on it since MS parking lots are the most dangerous place to park your cars.

Ouch! I guess if you've never put a rear-engine car on a lift before you might not know to put the little feet things further back. That tech will know now, assuming he/she still has a job.

The owner gave them instructions and handed them the manual.
They didn't read it until after the involuntary conversion.
When trying to get it down with a tow strap, it fell sideways into tool chests.
This is not the call you want to get about your car.

When this happened to my friend's car, they said "We have bad news and we have worse news.
"Your brakes need a lot of work. On the other hand..."

That is so dumb, it must count for something!
I never did get the whole virgin thing.

Here's another guy stuck in a chimney.
What is up with that?
Does it ever work?
http://www.keyetv.com/content/entertain ... 1a730449e2

We had a well known case here of a guy climbing down a chicken place's chimney, and guess what?
It's still hot!!
And greasy!
He died in there and no one would shop there, even after the owner put in all new equipment.
Poor guy.

We have barbecue places here.
A guy was smart enough to not go in the flue.
He tried to climb down the chimney in the space beside the flue.
They didn't find him until they tore the building down, well preserved.

Maybe all we need to do to deal with burglars is to put in big chimneys with a pit at the bottom.

I had a job last summer to reinforce all of the roof top venting on a little dairy bar. They had people try to break in through them twice.

I want to know what they were expecting to steal from a closed ice cream stand.

The pilot tried to land the jet on a runway that was too small, with a strong tailwind and water at the other end of the runway. But, you really have to watch around 2:10 to see how epically weird he fails.

They showed their ID before the robbery and then passed out in the car.

Drunk Robbers Found Passed Out Inside Getaway Car

Staff Writer

8:51 PM CDT, September 18, 2009
FAST FACTS:

* 2 men arrested for stealing cash, beer from gas stations
* Suspects were found in getaway car, passed out
* Court records state both have admitted to the crimes

(Memphis 9/18/2009) Two men are accused of robbing two different gas stations in one night. They got away with cash, and two cases of beer. And it appears they just couldn't wait to crack open a cold one.

Cops found them drunk, passed out on the side of the road.

WREG obtained a copy of the surveillance video from one of the robberies. The clerk behind the counter had no idea that the two men walking in had already robbed a gas station an hour earlier. He had no idea, they were about to rob him.

In the video, one guy sets a pack of Corona near the register. But before the heist goes down, the two men dig in their pockets to find their IDs.

Customer Amanda Walts thought that was pretty funny.

"If you're gonna steal, my advice to you, do not show your ID!" she laughed.

From the camera behind the counter, you can see one man motion for the clerk to give him everything in the register. He complies, they take off. Police identified the suspects as Rodney McGregor and Jerry Arnold.

They say before hitting the Texaco on Sycamore View, they stole a 12-pack of Budweiser and $40 from an Exxon station on Summer Ave.

Four hours and several beers later, the two were found inside the getaway car near Walnut Grove and 240, passed out..

"I think that's stupid, that's really ignorant and dumb," said Walts.

And WREG has learned this isn't the first time McGregor's been in trouble for stealing.

According to court records, he was arrested at the Kroger store on Riverdale in 2005. But in that case, it wasn't beer he was after. Court papers state McGregore was trolling the meat department. Police say he put a package of pork ribs down his pants and walked out.

Customers say maybe some more jail time will teach them a lesson...maybe not.

"Maybe they'll change their ways, guess we'll find out," said customer Steven Person.

Clerks at both gas stations identified McGregor and Arnold as the two suspects that robbed them. Police say both have already admitted to the crimes.

I've lived at GC Natl Park for years now and one of my favorite (*morbid*) things to do is explore accident sites...this one, "The green cobalt" as we refer to it, is well known to me...

I want to point out that the marine suffering from PTSD never drove over the edge...the green car in the photos was not of this account of epic failure.

BUT...the man who rented this vehicle was a drug abuser and DID try to kill himself...he survived a 255ft fall in his vehicle from the rim...
His story is at this link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -edge.html

The Marine's car in 2008 never actually left the rim, entirely. (Truly an epic fail) Those photos I cannot get because there is no vehicle to photograph, sorry! But...here's a link with an NPS photo of the Marine's vehicle perched on the edge.
http://m.grandcanyonnews.com/news/2008/ ... tes=mobile

There is a second car (a white Honda civic) below (about 550ft below the rim)...they didn't survive their 2012 crash but the their gear did, and all their clothing and backpacks and shoes etc is still down there...sad sad sad. The white car is eerie as a graveyard...
