Wow! Those are Most Excellent! I'd be thrilled and honored to use your stencil. We always came in Hushville, so we're easy to find, just troll the edges of the village.
Oooh, oooh, oooh. Very exciting, I will need to scoop up plain t-shirts at the thrift shop.
I have four Wayward Art t-shirts in XXL ... who would like one? PM me with a snail mail addy ... Fishy?
Other sizes may be available on request.

A Rant from my blog(s):
I am trying to paint up all my stretch canvas for E-11 and Dark Skies Regionals. Last year at Burning Man, someone had taken all the stretch canvas paintings, some by me, some donated, all at once and did not fill out the adoption forms. I suppose they thought it was okay because I was giving art away. I am. I am giving art to new homes, new families. I am not giving free art supplies to art supply scrounging rat-bastards. Stretched canvas is expensive these days, even canvas board doesn't come cheap. I think I will have more control, and more respect for the wayward art, at the regionals where I know people.
No adoption form = No Art For You.

Bumping for the newbs ... here's a simple way to participate. Bring a piece of art to The Home for Wayward Art and put it up for adoption. Or adopt some art yourself!
Small pieces please, preferably 2D. Paintings and woodblocks and photos and postcards and jewelry rock! Drawings and sketches tend to tear in the wind, so stick those to a piece of backing. No costumes or big ass leftover art projects you don't want to haul home. That's just not fair.
Yay! Art! Art for you, art for me, art has a new family!
We'll be in Hushville. On the edge actually. More info when the village is placed.

I have two pieces of wayward art, that are also moopy. I was going to mail them, but I haven't got myself together for that for months. I'm reluctant to bring them to the playa because they are moopy (I thought they might do for regionals), but at this point they've been in my custody for almost a year and a half.

It sounds like Romeo is going to gift paint along with the stencils .. red and black latex spray paint. I sure hope he can follow through! I know how it goe son the playa though, the best laid plans and such. I'm guessing a plain cotton t-shirt would be best.sugarcookie wrote:I really want to make these shirts (godzilla). What type of paint should I bring? Also, I'd like to leave some shirts for others to use.

Stencil gifting for t shirts G vs M
Do you know where you are going to be placed this year.
I will bring by the stencil and a can of red and black.
If anyone wants to donate more spray paint to the cause... I find that krylon latex works the best.
You only need to spray it on and it dries in about 5 to 10 minutes.
You don't need to run it thought a dryer before washing and I have t-shirts I tagged 3 years ago and they still look great.
PS
I'm with the 'Spray Dogs' and we will be tagging T-Shirts during the day at 'videogasm so come by and see some of our other work.

So far I've repurposed six paintings to include Godzilla:
Godzilla's Ranch (Big, framed)
Godzilla's English Cottage (subtle)
Van Goghzilla
Godzilla Visits the Grand Tetons
Godzilla Visits Tranquility Falls
Godzilla Visits Red Rock Falls (also big and framed, the best so far)
I'm working on Godzilla Goes Amish, Godzilla Goes To Zurich, a Monet-zilla, Godzilla's Irises, Princess Christine and Godzilla (so big it may not make it playaside), Conquistador Godzilla, A Hummel-zilla. Maybe a Godzilla Goes Hawaiian. I don't know. This may not be tons of Godzilla art, but I'm chipping away at the paintings.

Huh? I'm not going to go overboard on the t-short thing, mainly because I can't afford a lot of new shirts and the ones at the stupid thrift shop cost as much as new. Paint? Krylon latex ... I'll bring a few cans and we will either set up a clamp so people can paint their own, or haul it around with us and do geurilla style stenciling by request. Or both. I don't know. There's more than one way to do this. Donations of paint will be greatly appreciated and well used no matter how we go with it.gyre wrote:Are you talking about the paint/ink made for t-shirts?

Why do they do that? Or do they expect that they are going to have a bunch of hippies who aren't buying new because they don't buy new. Soon you'll have to spend more to buy used shirts or something...AntiM wrote: I can't afford a lot of new shirts and the ones at the stupid thrift shop cost as much as new.
