Goggle Foam

Post by Fire_Moose » Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:39 am

This seemed like the best place to ask.....

I recently got a pair of kick ass snowboard goggles but they don;t have any foam on them. I wear RX glasses and the goggles over them is a little uncomfortable without the foam. Does any one know of any stores that sell different foam pieces like i would need?

I found this one which i would have to cut up and alter a bit to make them fit just wondering if there is another source out there

I wonder if you could get the foam for RV's that's sticky on the back and is like tape?

Ygmir is talking about "weather stripping" foam. Almost any hardware store will carry it. That should work well.

If you really want something prefectly form fitting you could make a cast of yer face. Than you use great stuff sealing foam or something similar to make your custom foam seal.

In all honesty tho goggles are overrated for dust.. the dust really isn't that bad.

Now if the goggle are brass than thats different

TRhanks for the tip. I got some of that weather strip yesterday and it worked out very nicely.

Tool: My main need of the goggles is using them as sunglasses. I wear RX glasses but dont have rx sunglasses....so the goggles work out well.

Sounds like you solved your problem, but if the foam you used ends up being unsatisfactory in field conditions, consider Plan B: e-mail the company and they should send you exact replacement foam and special glue. Worked for me when my pup carefully chewed the foam from my ski goggles.
