Ciao Friends!

Post by valeriealvarez86 » Wed Jul 23, 2008 9:26 pm

Hello Everyone!!!!

My name is Valerie, I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area and this is my first time going to Burning Man. I'm super excited and thrilled to be going after hearing about it in the past and hearing about it all year long from my boyfriend and friends who have gone in prior years. However, I hd asked them about what to bring, wear, costumes and random questions and they suggested to come to eplaya...

So, I was reading about gift and all that stuff in meeting new friends at burning man...what kind of gift do I (or should I bring?). Costume ideas?!

How drastic is the temp from the day to night?

Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

p.s. sorry if you had already read this post...i tried to edit it and i deleted it on accident! ooops!!!!

p.p.s. I'm always looking to meet new friends so please feel free to friend request me on myspace or facebook!

Hey Valerie! Welcome Home!..almost..

Gifts? Necklaces seem popular (see playa artifacts in "Galleries") Anything that you can wear, and wont be dropped or forgotten.

The weather can be very hot during the day, and near freezing at night. Plan for both. Although the past several years, Ive found it fairly pleasant. My favorite time is sunrise, and just before sunset.

Have a great time!!

You found last year pleasant?
Where were you camped?

2006 was great.

Don't worry about anything your first year.
When you have an inspiration, you'll come up with a gift idea or maybe you'll be doing other things out there.
Lots of burney stuff in SF too.

Welcome Valerie.

Center Camp and Esplanade..Especially loved the mud rain and double rainbow after. Forgot to mention..it can get a little dusty.

I missed 2000..so that doesn't count to me.

Thanks! I've been hearing that from EVERYONE about the weather being weird. So are costumes during the day or at night or both?

I'm still a little confused on the camps...My boyfriend and his friends hang out in the deep end camp...what is it?

Thank you for responding back!!

A spray bottle.
Fill with water.

Plenty on showers elsewhere.

For your feet, water plus vinegar...helps against playa foot.. 50/50 (don't walk around barefoot, but still use this)

yes! spray bottles!

for a proper shower..on the cheap...a watering can ..standing in an evaporation pond..like a kiddie pool or something
