looking for a hotel on the playa
Hi
so yeah, basically I'm lazy & don't want to have to do anything
what camps supply showers, food & power for my RV?
to be honest, food & showers aren't so important..
but power seems a little hard to come by
I know this is gonna go down in flames, but hey! That could be funny
maybe I should offer up an excuse first? We're coming from overseas...
weak I know. Go on. Do your best. Whaddaya reckon? Thread of the year? But no seriously, what camps offer power?

If you are handy with electricity, you could do what I do. I camp as close to Centre Camp as possible. Around 4 am I dig a small trench from my camp to the Lanceland generators behind Center Camp, then, very carefully, splice into their main and wrap the juncture with duct tape and plastic bagies and re-bury. I've only been spotted doing this twice and each time I let loose with a freight train of obscenities and muttered about how I built this city, so, naturally, the observers assumed I was with DPW.
Last two years I've also been able to camp close to a bank of porta-potties and, using a sub-pump and lengths of 1 inch PVC pipe, have been able to offload all my grey water directly into the porta potties.
If you cant work out the plumbing just bring several packets of food coloring and color te water something other than grey so you can dump it directly onto the playa without violating the rules concerning grey water disposal.
Hope these handy tips help!

Be happy while you're living, For you're a long time dead.

Assuming "your" RV is rented, they will charge you up the ass when they find out it's going to Burning Man. And they will find out...shit out a little more cash for an RV with a generator.
or..going out on a limb here..
buy simple camping supplies, food, lanterns, a watering can, and try it out that way. You're gonna work whether you like it or not..so why not go all out? The Taxis are on strike, and will not be attending this years event.

anything worth doing is worth overdoing..
You guys don't be mean.
At the upper end badge level, Entheon will flash freeze you in a small pod until it's party time.
This halts aging and keeps you cool too.
Only food is served which was never alive.
(even vegetables are murder, after all.)
Camp fees include a tunnel pass to get you past the crowd at the gate.
But wait, there's more...
The playa is prepared by a special crew in the camp area, steamrolled and baked to a hard surface by infrared lamps.
Then it is resin coated to preserve it.
It is routinely vacuumed by an industrial vacuum to remove dust leaking in from lower level camps.

Taxis?
RV is rented they will "charge you up the ass" above the rental fee? In what way and what for?

Entheon is the reason I started this thread
I'm just wondering if there's anything similar
Haven't found anything close so far
Representatives of the Burning Man organization were unable to generate sufficient opposition to the bill once the eminent domain issue was resolved. Most members of the Legislature became convinced that the annual Burning Man event contributes little to the Nevada economy while simultaneously subjecting the normally peaceful area to what Selmi’s representative at the last Legislative hearing referred to as “an annual parade of human debris.â€

I have to say...
Having recently attended a regional burn overseas (NOWHERE ROCKS, btw -- don't tell anyone) I now appreciate a little better just how hard it is to haul yourself over an ocean and then hope to have your shit together in full style the way you see so many people on the Playa operating.
I was adopted by a super gang of Swiss burners, and next year, the beautiful and happy people of Nowhere will be running the Pueblo del Nowhere and the adopt a Euroburner (or from the continent of your choice) campaign.
I know it doesn't help this year, but you might check out the BRC Hostel (is that still running?)
Last year I gave power to the camp next to us because we hardly ever used our generator. I think I'm selling my generator this year, or I'd offer.
Good luck. The Playa ALWAYS provides. I wouldn't sweat it.

If I was to stop using the subjunctive, would anyone notice?
