Costco carport - dimensions

Post by itssunnyv » Fri Jul 25, 2008 11:05 am

does anyone know the diameter of costco carport frames? Are they 2" or 1 3/8"??

We're thinking of getting one this year and there's a substantial price difference with the two. Is there a big difference when they're up on the playa?

THANKS!! 36 days!

not 100% sure, but I think they are 2". They work great on the playa, provided you anchor them down well. I'm using 1 1/2" Conduit..similar to the carport..dont think tube diameter matters that much.

we discussed this on another thread..and seems military stakes or any rebar over 1 1/2' is a good anchor...in other words make sure your stakes are deep.
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

The legs are 2" and the top frame poles are slightly smaller than 2". When you unpack the carport, some of the top poles are actually packed inside the 2" leg poles so they have to be a little smaller diameter than the legs.
