Any other kid friendly camps out there?

Post by Ieva » Sun Jul 27, 2008 3:29 pm

Hello. first time burners here. We are psyched about attending. Our kids will be coming with us too, since there is no one we can leave them with at home. Beside our 4 and 2 year old are true NATURALISTS at heart. I believe they can surely handle the experience. We are looking for different options of where to camp. I am originally from eastern Europe: lithuania and my husband is from Russia. We live in Carson City, NV.
We are looking for a diverse, fun but also kid friendly camp who allows some nudity ( my 4 year old is determited to go naked, as he said)...but hopefully is not extremely loud. I know there is the Kids Camp, but they fill up fast and we are trying to contact them just now... So we don't know if they have any spots left. We are a fun bunch though :)

I believe kidsville has spots open. It should be a good place for you. I don't know of any others that actively invite children but there are quite a few which do not discriminate against them.

Yes! and though Im not sure if they still segregate adult camps from kid friendly camps..but 5:00ish and anything in that general area is good for kids.

The 9 o'clock key hole was safe last year because i saw parents bringing there kids to pancake playhouse but other then that i did not see any kids in past the keyhole area and i would recommend that you Stay away from the 9:00-9:30 side if you have your kids with you because I know last year that was where a lot of the adult only and erotic camps were located there last year and i think they might be trying to make that area the " red light district" again again this year.

Kidsville just posted saying they have room but you have to sign up with them before August 1st.

HI Ieva,

There sure is still room in kids camp (must register by August 1st) And if this is your children's 1st burn, I highly recommend camping with us their first year. There's a lot to think about before bringing the kidlets, so join our chat group, read old posts, ask lots of questions and I guarantee that you'll be glad you did. Besides, kidsville is definetly the coolest village, even if you're not a kid!!

Look forward to meeting you,

Cheers,
Skyneedle

Oh and yes nudity is welcome because, lets face it, it's natural. Those of us from the great white north (Yukon Canada) can't wait to shed our parkas and everything else underneath, but then the painful reminder of my opaque arctic skin reminds me that sunscreen should not just be applied liberaly but ingested and injected!!!
