Against all Odds - Nubee from LA

Post by bman777 » Mon Jul 28, 2008 5:29 pm

Hi All,
I have never been a part of any community before or neither have I written any post before. But after reading few of the post, I am writing one for the 1st time.

I come a conservative culture but I am very open minded. I have been told not to do this by many of my friend, and my friends in the bayarea even refused to buy me tickets with my money (which I should have done by mail, but lazy to get a money order). Apart from that I had to overcome my own personal fear to do this.

Finally got my tickets and I am very excited, as everyone I have tons of questions, I have to start preparing.

I am from LA, live close to Venice beach.

Hope to see you all at Burning Man 2008

Welcome Bman.

Can you say what you are afraid of?

Bman, for goodness sakes, it's just a camping trip in the desert after all.

We are all on vacation for a week and we try to entertain ourselves and each other. Most of us are actually moderately intelligent, creative people.

Your culture will still be your culture when you go back home. You can find many ways to participate without corrupting what you believe and still have a great time.

Hey Bman, Your Bay Area friends are just jealous that they are not going. This is just a summer camp for open minded people for a week. I am going on vacation with no expectation. See ya in the dust.

Hello bman :D Chances are if you like any of the following: art, super creativity, humanitarianism, expression, free will, camping, windstorms, dancing, music, performance art, and walking- then you will have a good time. ALot like anything, it is what you put into it (a metaphorical gas pedal of intensity). Go as hard and as fast as you can or sit back and be idle...depends on the person and the mode. Love it up and get prepared!

Don't listen to them. You'll come back from Burning Man an earth worshipping, homosexual Satanist. The burning of the man is symbolic of the trip you will one day take into the fires of Hell. Don't say you haven't been warned.
