Greenhorn seeks ride from Austin, TX!

Post by Mosi » Wed Jul 30, 2008 12:14 am

Hey y'all, this is my first time attending the burn and I'm completely excited!

I am also currently embroiled in an extended road trip. Back in the beginning of June I finally hit a breaking point. I'd been living in Portland, OR (amazing town) for a year, working at a deli with some great people, for a great company, but the job was a dead-end and I had hardly any personal time.

Feeling that the world had to be bigger than the basement where I lived and the deli where I worked, I made some plans, and in july, after my 21st birthday, I ended my lease, gave away all my possessions, and hit the road with a backpack and a thousand dollars (...and a burning man ticket). It's been an adventure so far (I had no idea there were so many Americans who don't even recognize a hitchhiker standing at an on-ramp!) and I hope to be stopping in Austin for my last visit before the Burn.

So in lieu of trying to hitch my way from there to Nevada, I'm trying to find someone departing Austin who would be interested in helping me get to BRC! I'll be happy to help pay gas, though I'm not sure how much I can contribute, my wallet is getting thin. I'm staying at Entheon Village, so I'm not planning to bring any water or food, just one large backpack.

Let me know if you'd like to have me along with you!

My name is Andy, I'm a 21 year old white male computer geek from California who likes to meet new people. If you live somewhere near Austin, or between there and Reno, I can hitch a ride to your location, or meet you somewhere on the road. Drop me a line here, or call me at (503) 475-3690. Also, email works.

Thanks!

Mosi...also post your info on the BM Rideshare link AND on Craigslist if ya haven't already.

Too bad you're not in Portland...we're going down from Seattle. DP
