Anybody in the Roseville-Auburn (Cali) area looking for a camp to join and who owns a large enough truck to haul a bunch of shit to the playa and can arrive Saturday? If you have answered "Yes!" to all of these questions, then have I got a deal for you! BDC&WB is in need of somebody to haul one of our trailers because sadly it looks like our veteran and his noob who were our designated schlepers may not make it this year due to financial constraints. We will waive your camp dues of course (the hauling is compensation enough). Any takers?

For all of you who have checked out our URL and have seen the cool firecannon on our art truck and thought to yourself, "Self, that is the best firecannon on the playa and I want to play with it!" well, you're shit out of luck. The bastards at the DMV (the fucking DMV Hotties, though sluts should be more accurate) have denied our art truck because it isn't "mutant" enough. Not mutant enough? It's got a 40-foot flame shooting out of it's lower deck! How many fucking mutant art vehicles can say that? Well, fine then. We'll just have to figure out something else. Bastards.

*Looks at pics*
Whoa... That cannon is insane!

I can't say I'm really surprised sadly. They have cracked down on all the "art cars" (tieland qualifies), and vehicles that still look like normal road car/trucks. I even hear the Thunderdome cars are getting rejected for not being "mutated" enough.

I'd bet good money that if you came up with a way to cover it so it didn't look like a truck anymore, you'd get a pass no problem.

Arrrggg!! Avast ye fucking fluffy bunny shirtcockers! Haul your drunken hairy fat ass out of our sight or prepare to receive a hot buttered hedgehog fired up your aft quarters!
Honey Badger don't care. Honey Badger don't give a shit!

Yep, same thing happened to us last year Doc, even though improvements from the year before ensured that the whole thing was "covered".
I am saddened that this seems to have to be such a subjective process. I heard my poor hubby a hundred times say, "Look at THAT - our art car was MUCH more mutated than that one - how can they do that?" His poor camera is full of photos of such "injustices".

(Sorry Doc. Not trying to hijack your thread here

Mojo, I'd be really curious to see the "before and after" shots of that vehicle.
And you just gave me a interesting idea for a bit of a project. Have a team of people take pics of every MV that comes in to get tags and track which "hottie" approved/denied each one and see if a pattern is shown. Plus it would be very useful for proof if there was to be a crackdown/investigation later.

Just a note getting away from the DMV topic: We (BDC&WB) will be on the corner of 3:30 and Dart. Many signs, impossible to miss. Wheeeee!Ville has enough space for all of our camps this year (freaking finally). Come by and have some wine or an Otter Pop. Maybe even take a ride on our mutant vehicle...just not Tieland.

Very well put. Form over substance. They just don't get the essentials of life. (Maybe if you had cute little ponies on it.)
