I'm gonna guess the wheel is that street that goes around center camp - the confusing one that fucks with your head cause it's all out of whack with the rest of the streets. haha.

I think feedback loop was the best ever name for it. lol

Does anyone know of a map with camp placements, yet? I’d love to see who my neighbors will be this year!

As far as I know there isn't a map yet and the list of camp placements is supposed to be secret.

I'm pretty sure Dan read it. Doesn't change the fact that it's supposed to be secret.

To quote the theme camp newsletter,
Here you go! REMEMBER - Posting this URL the public is not cool. Some of you have requested confidentiality with your placement.
....we all knew how long that was gonna last.

Again, how does that negate BitterDans statement that the list was "supposed to be secret"?

Frankly, I don't know why it's such a secret in the first place. Big whoop if people know where what theme camp is located...

If other burners know where their camps are located.

Well then, the Terrorists have won.

Perhaps a silly question...

If you wanted your camp placement to be secret, why would you register?

Maybe so you can get an alloted amount of space?

I just meant that if you register there are a few benefits other than being in the placement guide:

early arrival
guaranteed space

Hrm, Cafe Village seems to not appear on the list. Does anyone have any further details by chance?

Sortable spreadsheet of 2008 Camp Placements

Post by chiefdanfox » Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:33 am

This is a cross post, but I think this link belongs here, rather than in Q&A.
I made a scrubbed spreadsheet suitable for copying into Excel for sorting and searching. If anyone has a suggestion for improvement, let me know.

It is an option to not have your address published when filling out the themeCamp app.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

I can't figure out the numbering system around the wheel
(also at 3:00 & 9:00 ).

What does 9:00 plaza at 2:30 mean?

Is 12:00 the side nearest the man?

Enquiring minds are baffled.

You got it. If you stand in the middle of the plaza, facing the keyhole that opens into the Esplanade, you are staring down the 12:00 of the plaza. If you are walking into the plaza from the Esplanade, directly ahead of you is the 6:00.

....Personally, I think that's bass acwards, but hey, it's not my call.

Full Service-Self Service

Post by ron miller » Tue Aug 05, 2008 10:13 am

Does anyone know where "Full Service-Self Service" will be located? I did not see it in any of the listings.

Will "When-What-Where" be posted online or do we get it at the entrance?

12:00 toward the man then clockwise.

and reguarding the WWW: It should available both online
and via handout at the gate. Hopefully more useful than
last years WWW- only useful for wrapping dead fish.

Thanks for the info oneeyedick.

I found out it will be near center camp, in case anyone else was curious.

i agree. to find an event, you had to cross reference it in two or three different charts. damn hard to do in a 70 mph duststorm!
