Who hated the Green Man theme and who LOVES cars? !!!

Post by transgirl » Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:53 pm

I'm probably the only person who hated last year's theme, or at least the only one who will admit it. I don't even use gennies or an RV at the burn. I sleep in a tent and eat disgusting canned food all week (looking to improve that situation).

But last year's theme sucked. I hated the self-righteousness of it all. Pretty strange considering the first year I camped w/ the AEZ and it remains one of my favorite camps. I LOVE the idea of harnessing alternative energy and would like to take my house of the grid with a big ugly windmill in my front yard....

But still, I hated the pretention and venomous self righteous attitudes of people who went all GREENIE nuts. And godamnit, the hippies at one of the panel discussions who fervently spit suggestions of remunerations to those who didn't use gennys or RV's, and taxing those who did...

Just made me want to kick them in the throat.

And lastly on my tirade, anyone here want to admit they LOVE cars?? Not just the form, but what they do and what they represent? I am at my heart, a lone wolf. I cringe at communal and group activities and concepts. I hate being dependant on ANYONE for anything. Not only are cars beautiful, but they can transport you anywhere there is a road, without anyone's help or approval. You can get off the beaten path, leave at any hour of the night, and don't have to be with anyone but yourself. I love that. When I was a kid, I was feverish with anticipation of getting my first car, and the independance and adventures I could have in it.
I'd hate to be confined in a city where I couldn't have that freedom.

Cars have made America what it is. The idea of the personal vehicle and the independance it brings is the spirit of this country and the people, and I don't give a shit what these "evolved" HATERS say,... it's beautiful.

haaaa!!! It's funny you captains have reversed on me! I'm starting to think ur the same person.

capbadger when did I become a troll?

Is someone a troll only when they're posts are contradictory to someone's view?

Anyway, I love cars. Yup. If they could run on air and cost absolutely nothing, I'd probably spend my life roaming the world in an RV.

Actually, for the first time in awhile on this board I am actually offended.

I don't even fit the requirements of "Troll" according to capjbadger's picture. The idea he seems to follow me around and has now come in here with no intention to offer any interesting comments makes me think HE is the troll.

capjbadger, I cannot fit your ideal representation of my gender status and be a "flaming faggot". I cannot be what you want me to be so that I can make sense to you in your constructs and expectations of what a person of my gender should think and believe. I am who I am. I love cars, I am a heartless libertarian, a loner, and I will never be a leftist, liberal hippy.
I have a feeling that my opinions conflict with your idea of what I should think considering my gender identity and the things discussed in my other thread. This is only a guess, but it is based on a lot of shocked reactions I get from people in my own "community" when they find out my opinions on current events. Do not assume I am a troll because I do not believe or say the things you want or expect me to say.

I haven't been up to speed on reading all of transgirls posts, but I love cars, and I don't think that he/she/it is another of the trolls from you know who.

Or maybe it is.

I don't care, cause I have shit to do.................

i love cars.

I also am not studied on transgirl's posts. i am however in a deep like/hate relationship with you capjbadger. you're trollish in your own way.

ie
capjbadjer;Ali and Clay are the same person. BOC and SWU had different band memebers and were different bands.
It's like saying Green Day and Foxboro Hot Tubs are the same band. Yeah, they have the same singer, but they are not the same band. Green Day did not make "Ruby Room" and FHT did not make "American Idiot".

You're wrong. Get over it and move on.
I mean, buddy, that's just plain "capjbadger being an asshole". i mean, point is that you were wrong but you pushed it off on me. (and then never returned to the thread)

then there's this from herehttp://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=25136
capjbadger;Bob... being snarky to idiot beggers and trolls is one thing, but being an ass to people with honest questions is just, well, being an ass. Lay off.

bob was just bein' a fun smart ass.

Capjbadger, i regard you as one of the smartest people here on eplaya. i just find myself suprised sometimes that you're not smart enough to see that you come off like an ignorant elitist......badger. i guess hence, the name. you know badgers aren't nice and so often you, also, aren't nice.

i'm aware that this is eplaya and web bb's are slightly different than real life and i still look forward to meeting and hugging you, and sensei for that matter.(much love) maybe i'm a bully sometimes too and if that's the case let's have a little bully get down. that's what life's about. we're probably all the same zodiac sign or something....whatever.

say what you want capjbadger. i have a few friends who are 'very smart assholes' and i love them. you could just be another one of them.

love, crux
blow.

I agree 100%! I love cars. You could say I am a car fanatic. Working on cars is great fun and it's wonderful to see what makes them tick.
I am also glad they are making bio-diesel more accessible. It adheres to the 'green'ness we're looking for, while still leaving cars the best way to get around.
It doesn't have to be black & white guys! Car lovers don't have to change their views, and those who want the world Green don't have to hate them.
Stay Beautiful!!

*Chuckle* No, CG and I are not the same person, though we have similar eplaya names and funny enough both have ship/boat style MV's.
transgirl wrote:capbadger when did I become a troll?
The minute you made a post/new topic that was worded in a way to do nothing but start another flamewar.
transgril wrote:Anyway, I love cars. Yup. If they could run on air and cost absolutely nothing, I'd probably spend my life roaming the world in an RV.
Actually, it's closer than you think. Check out the MDI Air Car. They're still working out the last few kinks in the system but hopfully will be in production soon.
transgirl wrote:Actually, for the first time in awhile on this board I am actually offended.
If you're offended, then you're taking things too seriously. :)
transgirl wrote:I don't even fit the requirements of "Troll" according to capjbadger's picture. The idea he seems to follow me around and has now come in here with no intention to offer any interesting comments makes me think HE is the troll.
Hmmm... Perhaps I should of used the older "cute troll" pic.
If the "Troll" label seems to follow you around, I'd ask myself why? You are the common factor here...
Well you certainly have the "attempting to divide and conquer" bit in play. :)
Wait wait wait... follow you around? I've made two posts in response to you in ONE other thread and half of them were actually supportive.
I'm a troll? Onoz! haha Yes, in hindsight, I'm sure some of my posts appear trollish. Never claimed to be perfect. :) That is one problem with text only communication. Subtle inflection and sacasm are lost.
transgirl wrote:capjbadger, I cannot fit your ideal representation of my gender status and be a "flaming faggot".
Now hold on here... When did I EVER call you that?? Are you sure you're not confusing me with someone else?

When did this become about me Thirt33n? :)
Yeah, some of my posts are not nice. As I love to say, "the truth usually isn't".
The Band Debate thread drifted away from our talk and back to the thread's real topic and I wasn't willing to push the thread drift any farther. *shrug*
The whole "You're wrong. Get over it and move on." was total tongue-in-cheek humor. I should of added a wink smiley or such. My bad. :)

In that other thread, I felt Bob went a bit over the top on a new poster with an honest question. We were all n00bs once. So I called him on it and told him to lay off a bit. Reserve the snark for those that have proved themselves "worthy" of it. ;)

Thank you. :)
Actaully I'm quite aware of my eplaya appearance, though the occational misreading of a point I'm making does catch me by surprise.
No, I'm not always nice. And yes I don't excpect veryone to like me. I'm not willing to sugar-coat things and people don't like it when one pokes holes in their closely held beliefs with facts.

I'd be ALL OVER that! I probably am way more of a car fanatic than TransGirl is... although now that I think about it, "TransGirl" means a girl who builds transmissions, in the ears of a gearhead!!

Here's two of mine. A '79 Trans Am I bought in '83 and has been mostly stored since, and a '55 Bel Air that is all hot rod in sheep's clothing, but also rarely gets driven.
But who in their right mind would subject them to the playa?! I'd be pissed to even see someone bring a '66 GTO or a '70 Road Runner out there.

I loved last year, and last years theme. It was fucking amazing. Hmm.. how can you hate pretention and venemous self righteous attitude in others while boldly declaring your own? And I have to say your proclaimed 'lone wolf cringing at group activities' persona falls a bit short when you rant to no purpose on a "group" forum in an online "community" that you are clearly well established in. Maybe you should eat less canned dog food this year and have a bit more fun no matter what the theme is, it may improve your overall disposition and keep you from kicking anyone in the throat. Every year at BM is the time of your life just waiting for you to take advantage of it.

I really don’t think I wanted to start an all out flamewar, but I have started a thread that is addressing the leftist liberal nutjobs who are trying to make all of us more independent-minded personal vehicle lovers *apologize*. Well, I didn’t exactly make that clear in the first post, but it’s pretty obvious between the lines. This much is true.

The streets being named after cars this year is adding to the America-hating vitriol of these nutjobs; the same nutjobs who have been nurtured and brought to fruition by last year’s Green theme.

At least I started my own thread instead of attacking and invading someone else’s.

Suddenly the independent American spirit is EVIL. Those of us who still love the personal vehicle are backward, bible-beating, war-monging, anti-progress, anti-environment, anti-collective, whitebread, sociopathic throwbacks to Early Man.

God forbid we support alternative fuels for our cars and keep our privacy and independence, thank you!
God forbid we don’t want our transportation choice limited to jam-packed, humid, virus-spreading trains while opportunistic predators frotteur us daily and scavengers ramble up and down the cars with their crack-fueled stories and performances for tips.

Shit, I almost hit my windshield today listening to NPR when some over-privileged collegiate little pampered white-bread princess said she’d rather travel by HORSE AND BUGGY.
Well I say to her “GIVE ME THE KEYS AND SADDLE UP YOU F-ING TOOL!!â€

rawr Invisible Man, nice personal attack.

Maybe you should try not telling me what to do. But wait, you're probably a leftist nutjob, and that's exactly what they live to do.

I don't hate everybody, I'm just not communal and group oriented. I literally get panicky since I hate the fake compromising necessary to get along and the clannish acceptance of hierarchy and social climbing. It's gross and uncomfortable.

Besides, most people on forums are usually anti-social nerdy freaks. Some in denial. Do you really think I'd be posting on here on a Saturday night if I had a raging social life?

Oh, and nothing will change my disposition.
I have lots of good times on the playa, thankyou! Mostly admiring the genius, which doesn't require much involvement with anyone out there. I usually spend the week in silent reverence.

I love the freedom cars give

Post by dougnaka » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:51 am

Original post was right on target, and I agree completely with it, other than I don't really LOVE cars, I do completely LOVE what a car means today in America, which was said already. I do wish I had further freedom of independent transportation, and while I know airplanes and motorcycles are both great options, I will always long for a submarine!

I loved that sub half in the playa (05 or 06?)!

Maybe I can convert my tree car into a giant sub... Thanks, you've inspired me to try!

Are you stuck on stubborn or just plain stupid? I cant really tell. that wasnt a personal attack though im sure your paranoid delusions persuaded you otherwise. you havent been taking your meds have you. I didnt tell you what to do you though its more and more clear that you need someone to. not that ud listen, u seem to hear only what u want to hear and so learn nothing. i dont know anything about rabid hippies, leftists, or much of the inane nonsense you babble about in a feeble attempt at intelligent articulation that falls short of the mark. i dont use generators or sleep in a rv if that even matters in any way. i got nothing against cars, own one, drive every day just like evryone else, and am not even sure how they relate to your rant about green man. last years theme seemed progressive and well intentioned to me, an attempt at broadening awareness while sparking creativity. in any event, its just a theme, a means for focusing expression. get over it. u didnt have fun because ur not a fun person, in fact id go as far as to say ur a wreck. misery loves company and ur contagious. thats a more likely reason why u have no social life and spend ur saturday nights raving about nutjobs when i hate to break it to you girl, but ur the very definition of the word.
