I'd guess that'd depend on the lady.......

they are a good choice, though. some have extra cargo capacity for your goggles and dust mask, perhaps a flask of brandy...........

I’m going with a 3 liter this year but in the past 2 liters was usually plenty , I tend to go back to camp at least a few times a day and refilled then.

Go to Costco now and buy a case of water in bottles.
Then stuff them all in your freezer.
Bring that congealed mass to BRC and you will not be sad for it.

Water backpacks vary, and so do people. Louise thinks 2L is the limit in weight, and I run out of water too soon with only 2L, so I carried a 3L pack last year.

My previous pack was 2L, and I had no problems with it making me hot and sweaty. I bought the 3L pack on a Web recommendation of all sorts of support and comfort, but it made me sweat like a pig. I hated it, but I still used it because it gave me more water. Louise and sewed up a new pack for the bladder, and I'll try that this year.

Water weighs 2.2 pounds per liter. Simulate 3L with 6.6 pounds before you hit the playa to see if that's too much to carry around.

Your mileage will vary.

I prefer to carry water on the bike.
I have stuck a bottle in the backpack and just carry them in my hand sometimes.

I like my CamelBak M.U.L.E...2L capacity with pockets for small items. Now, I also put the thing in my bike's basket so I don't have to carry it on my back...and grab it when I stop and lock the bike and walk away...YMMV.

I like my camelbak, the covered drinking tube is handy for keepin dust off. I fill with ice than top off with liquid.. lasts about half a day with a 3L.

I know they make a massive 25L camelbak that is used for refilling other camelbak's.... those things are sweet but expensive.... if you check out camelbak's web sight they have tons of smaller options as well.... they now make up to a 6L bag....
