Fun in San Francisco
Fun in San Francisco
I'm doing a weekend (this weekend) in San Francisco. Other that BM origin's, is there anything the city is known for (or kept secret) that I should check out?
I'm guessing nothing BM related is going on since the core is already out setting things up, sp I'm not sure where else to look, or who better to ask. ^^

Probably a lot of projects going on if you want to do that.
There is a complete lighthouse lens at the museum by the wharf.
Taking a ride out in the bay is worth doing.
Don't forget a coat.
Chico's Pizza has a great special, very spicy.
There is a bar disguised as a hidden speakeasy.
Just enjoy the weather.
100 here, probably in danger of 80 there.
Many camping stores, including outlets.
Don't forget to visit the llc office and annoy them.
Now that everything is set, they are probably bored.

We are having a Burner-ish party in Oakland this Saturday the 8th. Anyone is more than welcome to roll out. Multiple rooms of music, outdoor area, fire pit, full bar... We will be throwing these events once to twice a month at our new space over there. For info please IM, PM or email me... Dont miss it...

Yea, the squidlist is a good jumping off point for things to do (you can find it in the menu bar of that site Ugly Dougly posted.
Also for most mainstream faire try www.sfstation.com or www.going.com
Most people I know are arse deep in Burning Man prep at the moment, but there's a few events that have caught my eye this weekend,
World Hoop Day
US Air Guitar Finals
House of OM Tour - Mission Rock
As far as an average weekend in the city, do these things...
-Hang out at Dolores Park, take in the view both in and outside the park.
-Go up Coit Tower.
-Avoid Fishermans Warf like the plague.
-Visit the Exploretorium, pretend to be 6 again.
-See the Chihuly exihibit at the De Young and Explore the GG Park.
-Go across the bridge to Marin and be reminded that humans can create large scale beauty.
-Wait in line for at least 2hrs to see the Frida Kahlo at the SFMOMA
-The Speakeasy mentioned before is called Burbon and Branch, it's in the Tenderloin (sketchy central) but worth a visit for shits and giggles, to get in without a booking just say the word 'books' at the door and they'll escort you into the Library.
-See the murals at the Mission (Womans building and Balmy Ally are good choices).
-Go to the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building on Saturday morning - Mmm mm
-Thrift store shopping in the Upper Haight, so much shit, so many gems.
-Grab a beer at Toronado in the Lower Haight.
-Grab a beer and a burger, if the weather is beautiful, at Zeitguist in the Mission.
I'm sure i've missed a shit ton of things, but that's all that springs to mind.
