My conscious got the best of me. So I figured I’d share this conversation with the group. I’m not a salesman, I just know what works for me. As with most of the playa costumes this stuff doesn’t react well to fire. Have fun and drink water.......

There you go brother. I'm a really big fan of this stuff; it's the only underwear I own. The good part about this stuff, as far as the underwear goes, since it doesn't retain water like cotton, you can wear it longer without it getting funky and having to wash, this was a perk in Iraq.

-Cases to protect you electronics... (I'm bringing out a laptop, digital SLR,

-A leatherman or multi tool at the camp is a plus

-Multi Vitamins w/ minerals will help your body retain water

-Goggles (yellow lenses, these work both day and night) (squinting all day sucks, plus it gives you wrinkles)

-LED flashlights are a good investment

I'm biased because I actually work at Patagonia (fair disclosure and all), but I really really prefer our baselayers to the standard Underarmor. I don't know which is more expensive, but there's a Patagonia outlet store in Reno, so if you're going to be in town for a day or two you should swing in and check it out. Everything is generally 30 to 60% off of retail, making it far more affordable.

I like to run around 1/2 nekid with SPF 30 or better.

There are no burka clad ladies we gotta worry about on the Playa ...

But I will second the long-johns thing. I carry a set of UA in my water pack for those times I forget that I've been away from camp all day and that it is actually 5am tomorrow already.

For those like myself that are driving from the Midwest, you drive right by Sierra Outfitters AND Cabela's. I make Sidney (Nebraska) a legstretch stop most years if I'm driving by during biz hours. The Bargain Cave ROCKS. The original Cabela's (in Kearney) is a little bit off the beaten path, and has no Carcass Mountain like the newer stores.
