UV Photo studio
We're setting up a UV photo studio on the playa. We'll have UV canons and floods (Wildfires) and backdrops, as well as UV costumes and airbrush body paint.
If you're a photographer with experience taking this kind of photo let us know. We'll have a couple of tripods available. We just ask that you be willing to share the full quality digital images with us.
If you'd like to model, let us know and we can try to schedule it. It's important to sit very still for this kind of photo. If you'd like to do your own UV face makeup which we can provide. We're working to be able to do some prints on playa, but in any case we'll get you copies of photos for your portfolio (Non commercial use.)
If there are airbrush body painters who want to take part, we have airbrushes and UV airbrush paint and stencils.
UV costumers (Diva/glo-go dancer type costumes) and hair and makeup types are also welcome.
AND...
We're taking the Psy to the people.
There's going to be a smallish mobile psytrance sound and lighting system, and If you'd like to have it rock your spot, let us know when and where and we'll try to accommodate.
If you've got some psytrance or psychill mixes you'd like to get heard, we can do that.
If you have abstract video on DVDs, we'll play it on a mobile screen and if anyone asks, we'll tell them where it came from.
If you love to dance and perform to psytrance (flagging especially), let us know.
Live spray paint and airbrushing will be going down on a mobile canvas, and there will be UV everywhere.
This ain't no stone soup, but rather a shout out to get the right people involved in what we love!

Hi Mata, I have some abstract animation and video art that you might like. You can check out most of my pieces at http://www.youtube.com/zoyous. Some are more abstract, some are more nonfictiony and representational, but you might still find them visually interesting. I'm fine with y'all playing it without sound and providing your own soundscapes. Let me know and I can prepare a DVD for you.
There have been some great responses from this. I hope to hear from more people. We could especially use a photographer who knows something about blacklight photography to help us out for a bit and make sure we're getting the best photos, especially since we'll have a really great set up with high powered UV floods. We've got the portable photo printer set up for on playa prints.

Hi everyone! Rodney here (using my girllfriend's account). I am a pro photographer and have some minor experience with blacklight photos, and as someone already commented, the biggest problem is wattage. If you have a few thousand watts of blacklight, then all should be in business!!! I would love to join you for some blacklight fun, as I am bringing my D2X, D200, and D40 Nikons. I will be located at the 3:00 plaza at the 100th Monkey Camp. Look me up out there and lets get some fun stuff going!
By the way nudes with flourescent body paint would totally rock in the blacklight.....any volunteers?

I'm a NYC UV artist (among other things). I create character-based UV art in an organic script. I draw a little bit from Tengwar.
I'll be on Playa with my UV makeup pen, handheld UV light (so I can see what I'm doing) and UV markers.
Where will this UV studio be? I'd love to come by and play.

I'm bringing a couple thousand watts of blacklights. And some other stuff that makes it work well. We'll even have a fully enclosed studio, which is basically an emtied out truck... I want to do a couple of shoots with the model standing in the open doorway with the lights and photograher(s) in the truck and the city behind her (or him).
PM me if you'd like to participate, and I can show you some examples of what I'm talking about. I only ask that you share the pics, like right then and there so I can personally make sure teh models get to see them afterwards. Bring a blank cd and I should maybe be able to burn it up.
