Compulsory insurance is done all the time. zyou think it really costs an air ambulance 15K to fly a patient to reno? nope - you ahve to cover the shmo that doesnt ever pay.

I pay higher car insurance to pay for the uninsured motorist.

30 bucks isnt much to ask for peace of mind. who knows what kind of coverage you can get when 40k people are all made to pay that fee in their ticket?
I am with you totally!!

I don't think that I'd "put on this soiree" without it. And it's really an insignificant amount compared to the total cost that most people seem to pay to come to BM.

I think whatever's on the back of the ticket is obviously a recommendation of lawyers. However, as has been said, there's nothing signed by the people who come. It's assumed you agree when you buy the ticket, which may be valid . . .

BUT there are exceptions. And because BM knows or SHOULD know that at least a significant number of folks have been or are going to be wasted, so to speak . . . well, what can we say?

We can be made to sign a disclaimer at a skating rink, absolving the owners of liability for injury. But just let somebody lead a big Crack the Whip, resulting in a few broken legs, and see what happens if and when management didn't step in . . .

You'd be surprised at how many people think it's the one profound truth of the universe.

So I'm wondering if this is your reaction when you see a monk in a saffron robe with a begging bowl relying on the goodwill of his community to get by.
Throwing a firecracker or two into their begging bowl is great for a few quick laughs. It's also a fast track to real humility for the monk.

Those release of liability clauses are nonsense. You can't sign away future rights, since you can't predict future events with accuracy. They are designed to bully. This is America, you can ALWAYS sue.

I just called AAA and got their trip insurance.
It covers 500K med transport, 25K med charges, including dental,
and, 500 bucks cancellation if I can't go, or, have to leave early....
and,
it cost 42 bucks.........

Thanks for suggesting that.........
